Where the heck does the Master Draughtsman's Office plans come from!?! Is it a just a random drop? I thought I saw somewhere that you could get it randomly by build a Draughtsman's Office but I don’t want to pour a ton of money into doing that over and over just to discover it is not true!

Yeah you either build the draughtsman's office and get it as your randomly chosen recipe or you can loot a random drop recipe book that has the plans for the master draughtsman's

Or if you're on the Bonny server, you can buy one for 9000 db.
What a silly idea this was.

If you have Draghtsman's office, there is a recipe book that is a random drop that will give you the recipe for a Master Draghtsman's office. Do not forget, once you have a Master's office up, you will not necessarily have all the Structure deeds available to you. There are quite a few that are random drops also.
Last price I saw on Black Beard was 1250 db. Pirate side.:yar:

Fate has not been shining on me and at 1000 a pop this is getting old!! Also is this normal or a bug.. When I build the Draghtsman's office almost half the time I don’t get a random recipe.. The way the tool tip reads it should always give you one..

It probably does, but if you know it already then it doesn't actually tell you that you did. Just because you get a random recipe every time doesn't mean that it's always going to be a new recipe.

The random drop I was talking about did not come from building a Draghtsman's office. It is from killing ships in missions. It was a random recipe book.
Edit: try Red Tide a couple times, it seems to drop quite a few neat books and other items most of the time.

Understand, but I never had one drop in beta and have not had one drop for anyone I know since launch.. I KNOW I can get one from the draughtsman’s office building.. It is just random and expensive..

Yes, when you create a draughtsman’s office you get a random recipe. There is a list of what they are if you hit F1 and look up draughtsman’s office. I think there are 7 or so, but can’t find it online at the moment.. One of them is the Master draughtsman’s office which is needed for a whole bunch of stuff.. After building about 15 draughtsman’s office I finally go the Master draughtsman’s office last night..
As others have pointed out you can get the book for Master Draughtsman’s Office from loot and some suggested Red Tide as it has a tendency to drop recipe books.. The only problem with that is you could go your whole career and never get one.. The loot table is just too varied and random to bank on! Building draughtsman’s office is the only reliable way of getting the Master draughtsman’s office recipe.. The BEST way to get it is just buy it off the AH.. Even if you had to pay 5k it is better than building 15 plus draughtsman’s office like I did! Unfortunately on Kidd there have been none for sale on the Pirate AH and I am not sure I want to sell any lol..

Hmm, well i'm a level 14 free trader and I've gotten 3 recipe books. You can also buy trecipe books. You just spent 15 + k putting up all those shops, maybe you could have bought the book instrad?

We had 4 guys in our society including myself get the recipe book from missions right out of the starter town, I wish I could remember which mission it was. I think it was the first mission from the Bartender where you pick up the cask's of rum. I went and killed all the ships and had it drop. It was either that mission or another that was that type of scenario. I will try to find the name and edit this post later.
Edit: In beta, they were seeded in tha AH, never had one drop either.

I haven't ever gotten a random deed when I've built anything! Do I have to do something first to make it appear?

Do what I did for my society. Keep building draughtsmen offices until you get the recipe.

If you review the F1 Help for Recipe Books, you'll find this one contains what you are looking for. Yes you must have a Draughtsman to make the Master Draughtsman; however, it is the first I've heard that it randomly appears upon building. Having said that, I do notice a recipe, I suppose one of the other 7, that I learn which are not in the default set of Structure Deeds.
Good Luck all.

Actually to whoever said 15k. It' not. Master Draughtsmen take over 5k to just build alone. Which means he is either doing really well with the economy stuff and selling or I don't know what...but either way it means he spent over 60k in dubloons just to get the master draughtsmen's deed.

Including open beta I have built three Draughtman's offices. All three of them contained the Master D.O. recipe.
So either I'm incredibly lucky or you guys are sprouting misinformation.

You were INCREDIBLY lucky. Me and my mates built 4 DO's on 10 Jan and not one had the MDO in it. Luckily one of the first books we got was for MDO.

There are a few options to obtain a Master Draughtsman's office. One is build a regular Draughtsman's Office and get lucky enough to get the Master Draughtsman's Office as your bonus recipe. Second is obtain a book called "De Architectura Vitrivua" which gives you the plans to make it. Third of course is to purchase a Master Draughtsman's Office Deed from the Auction House.

God, I bought mine on Bonney for 800db. I count mysef lucky. By the way you pirates on Bonney, I make buildings for cost + 100db, more if I have to meet you somewhere (1db/nearest port mile).

My Bad... :P
The 8000db for the Master Draft Office on Bonny was only for the first day of pre-boarding, I relisted them at 5000db on 2nd day and then 800 after the 4th day. Sorry to cause such a ruckus, but I just took the luck of first day drop to get some starting capital to get my production line up and running.
I am now up and running and sell all my wares at 40-90% markup, deeds even less. For those that freaked out, you only needed to wait a couple days for the econ to get up and running before freaking out about prices.

But... if I get the MDO from the random recipe when I build a DO.. and then I destroy that DO (becouse i'm moving to a new port and need the lot)... do i keep the recipe for MDO or I lose it?
thanks :)

Once a recipe is in your book, it's in your book.... why I believe the "random recipe" only happens the first time you build a building type. Like one guy above said he built 3 DOs and got MDO each time... I think he just got it on the first build and the other 2 didn't provide any extra recipes.

Well, that isn't necassarily true. My Ironmonger had to build 2 Forges to handle the amount of Iron coming in, and on each Forge she build she got a new recipe (Smelt Brass and Smelt Gold).

No. Tear down and build, you get another chance. I did it with one character, about 10 rebuilds, leading to 5 additional recipes. Some must have doubled up.
