Hello all!
Since moving to a new forum structure for launch, many folks have been a wee confused about how it's all working and set up! A lot of people have asked for some quick & dirty guide to let new forum members know what to do once they have a forum account. Here's some top things to note in the User CP, which is where you will go to edit your signature, upload your avatar and how to turn on the features to allow you to communicate with other people.
First thing you should do is click on "User CP", which is located in the top left of the forum in the menus (User CP FAQ Member list and such).
You'll see many options, check them all out! Some tips are below:
1. Upload an avatar - you an upload one of your own or link to one you have hosted on another site. There is a size limit, so keep an eye on that. Also, please remember to keep your avatar picture within our normal PotBS Forum Rules & Expectations. http://www.burningsea.com/page/community/rules
2. Your signature - You can type up a variety of things to say but you are limited to 3 lines of normal text. You should also follow the PotBS Forum Rules & Expectations in your signature text. http://www.burningsea.com/page/community/rules
3. Turn on Private Messaging - If you wish to be contacted by other players, or more importantly by FLS staff, please make sure to turn on Private Messaging. You can set it so only FLS staff can contact you, if you are not interested in communicating with other players via the forums.
4. Visible Post Elements - If you wish to see signatures, avatars and images attached to posts, you should mark these "on". You can choose to see them all or just one or two of the options.
