Lots of posts and steps to put in contention articles are around

But what about a list of the ways to reduce contention in your own ports

Is there anything you can do in combat in the area around your port to help ?

What exactly do you do with the unrest bundles also ?

Any other ways ?

Thanks in advance and I think a lot of new players would appreciate the info also

There may be other ways, but you can do a mission for the Rebel Agent or Garrison Commander that will reduce the Unrest in that town.

I believe FTs can hand in materials to the Rebel Agent and Nos and Privs can do a Patrol Mission for the Garrison Commander both missions are rewarded with an Unrest Reduction and 2 Marks of Victory, which can be redeemed for some sort of rewards.

As far as I know you can only do the mission once every 24 hours in each town.

Thats all I know.

I've figured out how to deliver unrest packages to enemy ports, but who do I deliver the anti-unrest packages to in my own ports?

kill ships that are not of your nation its usually the fastest it doesn't need to be the nations ships that is contending the port eg: if its england that is contending killing english, french and brethren will reduce unrest

run the patrol missions and do the other garrison commander hand ins if you can afford it.

that's about it really.. as if yet i have not found where to hand those unrest bundles in I checked the rebel agents today and the garrison commanders i haven't found any of the ones that would take an "unrest bundle" I dont think this is in the game yet..

There in the game. Unrest bundles go to the rebel agent in the town. Anti-unrest bundles go to the garrison commander as far as i know.

You cant hand in unrest bundles when the unrest goes over 5000 i think.
its probable you wont be able to hand in ant-unrest bundles when the unrest is at 0.

Ah, that could be why I haven't been able to find a hand-in spot for bundles, as Spain has been concentrating pretty hard on just one port on my server.

It's my understanding that Unrest Bundles are not active, for some reason.

I'd provide a link to a reference, but I can't find it right now and I have to go to a meeting...

It would be super nice to have a list of what quests, turnins, and items can be used to raise or lower unrest. I was just about to whip up an unrest pack, and if it's worthless I'd like to know.

Right now it seems as if all rebel agents accept either 17 kegs of rum, 28 black powder, 23 hardtack, or 4 small arms to generate unrest.

The unrest bundles seem to have no point in the game right now. It's frustrating to have to buy someone else's goods to help generate unrest when I can make unrest bundles of wood that do nothing.

Unrest bundles are scheduled to be put back in with patch 1.1 IIRC.

Are there any turn-in missions that reduce unrest, or is my FT looking at doing endless patrol missions?

if the unrest is greater then 0, there is gold, small arms, black powder & small cannons turn in

Except that at the 2 ports I've been to that are under contention neither have and missions available from either the Garrison Commander nor the Rebel Agent.

The only missions I've found so far from a Garrison Commander that reward MoV's are in ports that aren't under contention.

A little confused as to how this is meant to work.

once a port flips over to "under attack" and a port battle is scheduled, the unrest missions stop working because the port is already under attack and there is no need to cause anymore unrest. Instead of unrest, the number when you mouse over it is conquest points and gaining conquest points gives your side various buffs during the port battle. (weaker/stronger forts, advantageous wind, different starting locations)

Sorry about that, should have said when the ports are in unrest (still getting used to the terminology)

For example: Port of Spain now has it battle scheduled, however prior to that I wasn't able to get any missions from either the Garrison Commander nor the Rebel Agent. Same for Turtling Bay, no missions available from either npc.

They turn off when the Pirate PVP zone appears.

Oh, so they are only available in the initial unrest period?

In other words, if there is a red circle there'll be no missions?

Correct, you have to spot it ahead of time.

Thanks all, I've got a bit of a better idea how things work now.

Does anyone have any idea how many unrest points are generated for unrest bundles. I'm assuming based on price and that they will probably be fairly similar to the current turn-ins, that when turning in to a rebel agent they will be worth 100 points and 200 points (for the wood package since it costs about 2x).

However, this is pure speculation. Does anyone remember what it was from beta? Has it been changed for release?

The quests for turning in unrest bundles has never been turned on up to this point. They are still working on them from what I understand.
