The developers read the forums non-stop throughout their workday, something I experienced in person when I was in the office this summer. I know this, because I peered over most of their shoulders at one time or another! They use the forums to gather feedback, to learn about what's working and what's not in the game, and also to check out suggestions from players that may spark an awesome idea for later implementation.
However, the thing to remember is that the developers also have a job to do. It's an unfortunate fact that they simply can't reply to the high volume of posts that are made every day on the forums. Asking for a developer response to your thread won't affect our ability to respond to you. We all read the forums regularly, and I think the fact that I'm responding to this just a half hour after you posted it proves this.
There are also multiple reasons why we may not be able to respond, especially regarding questions about future content/changes. We pride ourselves in being open and honest with the community, and therefore when we know what changes are definitively going to be made, we're always happy to share that information with you publicly. But until then, we don't like to disappoint by talking about features/changes that may or may not make it into the game in the long run. So typically, suggestions for new features or changes will not receive a response from us, as we use them to spark internal discussions about a change. You'll definitely see the end result of that discussion, but until we decide amongst ourselves whether the idea will be a good addition to the game, we won't be able to post about it.
