This is almost a question I'm not sure I want to see the answer too due to sticker shock but here goes. What are the costs for warehouses? I know the first is 200 and the second is 3200 but how does it go up from there (they said exponital but not sure quite what formula they are using). Thanks

If you destroy one, can you build in another port for 200?

It's the number of concurrent warehouses you own that decides the price of the next one. If you had one and nuked it, it doesn't count. Only current ones.

I did just see on one of the guides posted by a Red Name on economics that you can build warehouse's in ports with the Regional Trade House - err...whatever it is called, for French it is in Pensacola and the Capitol - but that you can build warehouses freely there.
Here is the relevant part of the post:
Regional Auction House (RAH): Ports containing RAHs are not buildable, however, you will obtain a free warehouse in these ports. You must be able to talk to the auctioneer (Nations Trade rep >-500) in a foreign RAH to initially build the warehouse. Faction will not matter afterward in continued use of the warehouse. Ports containing RAHs also have that respective nations European trader and general trainers, and Capital Ports have dealers in Freetrader specific recipes (company office, and pennant/commendation houses).

do the warehouses owned by other characters on the same server count toward the concurrent warehouse total? like lots?

No, you get a free warehouse there, and also in your starting port. No need to build anything. It will be created for you the first time you use the auction house in that port.

isn't an exponential increase something more like

not that I'm complaining... although that prob. is what it sounds like. lol

its to the power of 4 (an exponent) so its exponential -- it doesnt have to be a power of 2 to be an exponential increase.

If I demolish a warehouse to move production to another area. Does this lower my warehouse count?
Aka If I have 3 warehouses and demolishes one, does the game count me as having 2 warehouses and I pay 16200 for the "new" 3rd warehouse or do I have to pay for a 4th?

Yeah, the calculation is always ((Current number of warehouses + 1)^4)*200
So remove a warehouse, you'll only need to pay whatever you paid for that one to construct a new one.
