This event will take place in the Pointe–a–Pitre RP room. As always, keep your eyes open for red circles as you make your way there.





Now that transfers are open, you are either a "new" player on an established server full of people you perhaps don't know very well, or you're a grizzled veteran of your server adrift in a sea of young whippersnappers. Either way, we thought we'd give you a chance to mingle with your new server-mates that doesn't involve cannon fire. To that end, we're holding a "Welcome to Antigua / Roberts" ball this Saturday in Pointe–a–Pitre!

Badly written paper name tags are entirely optional, but "Proud veteran of [server]" titles are encouraged if you've transferred in (these will be automatically handed out in advance of the event). Remember to wear your finest garb, since we'll also be holding a contest fo find the best dressed avatar and two players on each server will win a unique title: King and Queen of the Ball! Every attendee will also be given confetti to throw.

At the same time we will be opening up our official voice chat server to the public for the first time. This is your chance to come and chat to a few of the Pirates of the Burning Sea development team while you strut your stuff at the ball. To use our voice chat server, you'll need to download the Mumble client (which you can find here (http://sourceforge.net/projects/mumble/)). We will give out the server address and password at the event.
When: Saturday, February 13th, 8pm GMT (3pm Eastern, Midday Pacific)
Where: The Salle De Danse Ballroom in Pointe–a–Pitre on Roberts & Antigua.You can find the Ballroom by using this map (http://www.burningsea.com/images/events/PaP.jpg). To save time, use the chaise to visit the Theater District!

How are we getting in the titles ?

I did inquire before the transfers and was told we would be notifed when they were going to hand them out.

I just logged into my accounts I transfered to Roberts ( had them on BB since Beta and already had French toons on tiggy so no where else for them to go ) and they did not yet have the titles.

Do we need to file tickets to get them or is FLS giving them to us by using records of who transfered off the closing servers?

This sounds like a fun idea; I hope it gets a good turnout. As Bolar so kindly pointed out, there'll be some good PvP around Pointe-a-Pitre due to this event as well, so more fun for everyone. Just remember to take your yacht if you're of a weaker constitution for fighting other players.

When we mark something as low risk, it means that players only need to think within what can happen in the game normally. The alternate is the high risk where we would be in ships aiming to sink you, if possible ;)

First, download Mumble from here (http://sourceforge.net/projects/mumble/) audio wizard. Then, follow the audio setup wizard.

Once that's done, choose server->connect->add new, and create a connection using the following details:

There was nothing welcoming about this event. Had to wait 2 hours for the contest, the QandA came from nowhere, and never did get any of that promised confetti.

Edit: Just got my confetti. Thought it would be something different. I can make fireworks anytime. :(

It was nice to hear it straight from FLS. Questions were answered and it had to seem to Lum like he was on the "hot seat" getting questions fired at him. Exceptional turnout, I was just in awe of all the people at the event on Antigua.

Thanks for more insight into the direction of the game and even maybe not so much but kind of or maybe not a teaser about P&P, concerning "the hook" that just had Rusty duct taped over.

I had a good time at the event, showed up early and roleplayed a little bit with the GMs (thanks for the waltz), and some of the other players. From what I overheard GM Isabella was challenged to an avcom duel, though I couldn't see if it actually happened as I was on the other side of the room with a whole lot of toons in between.

I missed the GM sponsored skirmish after the event, had to change into my combat gear. Maybe somebody can share the lowdown on who did what to whom?

Was a little confused setting up mumble, but finally got it figured it out and listened to some of the questions and discussions. Nice.

Not sure how the best dressed was decided, so many good looking toons were there. I did notice the FLS staff using the new "flip-a-coin" emote though.

Overall I was pleased with the experience, and hope to see a few more of these population mix events. Thanks FLS for spending your Saturday afternoon with us!

Hopefully Rusty is going to let you take Sunday off!
