Pude, it's not primetime if there aren't 24 captains on both sides. And to quote Stokes,

As I said, I am not crying about dayflipping. It seems rather hypocritical to me though, considering France's reduction in fleet size and Spain's stated desire for even fights. I don't think 24v12 is even, myself. If you do, that's fine. And you have every right to flip a port whenever you want to. It just seems silly to purposely avoid the opportunity for a 24v24, especially given how epic the last few evening battles have been.

While I don't dispute your right to flip the port, I think that in the long run flipping ports when opponents are not able to defend will be harmful to the RvR on Antigua. If you're genuinely seeking primetime battles in your time zone, that's great - but it quite obviously is not server primetime. I would recommend attacking the British who can obviously fill port battles to 24 at this time of day, and the French later on in the day when they can get 24.

France willingly reduced their ship size in order to have some better RvR, but expect that to change if we start getting attacked when we can't defend.

Honestly, I'm not all that concerned about a few isolated day time battles. I am disappointed that this one won't be a good fight, but it's not as if you are consistently attacking ports at this time of day, when France can't defend. I'm much more concerned that Britain has been purposely stacking port battles to try and avoid fighting the French and Spanish, and both the Pirates and the British have attacked France more often than Spain in this time zone.

I suppose we'll just have to see how things turn out. However, I notice that there are plenty of threads on Roberts about people complaining about Americans "night-flipping," and those same people then come to Antigua and start "day-flipping." I'm not in a position to comment on Roberts night-flips, but it's just one more bit of hypocrisy in a silly video game.

I suppose it's up to Spain whether they want even, enjoyable fights or not.

We do thats why we waited to flip NO :) But its the weekend and unfortunetly people might not be thinking about the consequences of rvr on the weekend. tuesday morning doesn't sound like a fun PB time for anyone even spain. Spain probably will have more players though and I think it is a shame to win just because of numbers. France toned down the bundles we can at least meet them half way and tone down the day flips. If we day flip a port they equal it out with a bundlezerg so just think about it before messing up the fun for everyone.

Dayflips/nightflips seem to the inevitable consequence of the server consolidations coupled with so many players having various toons across nations. I see both arguments as valid: players should be able to play the game when they can, while at the same time it is not fair nor fun to win battles where the enemy is seriously outnumbered.

It appears we are at an impasse.

the closest day battle was IP 24v20 but 4 ships can and did make a big difference.

I'd wondered where he was. It really surprised me that I hadn't seen anything of him in the last couple of weeks. I'm sure there are a lot of people I knew from BB that may have left the game in the few months that I was gone. But I really wouldn't have expected someone as plugged-in to PvP as Guillotine to leave.

The whole server-merger has been awesome, in my opinion, and I'm definitely going to resub. At least so I can play over Spring Break.
