thx, new dl worked, now just have to wait for it to patch.....i think a total download + install time is exceeding 18-20 hrs.....this is rediculous

Anyone with this issue should resort to Geo's link, it helped me with this very issue. As a matter of fact, I will put it in my sig.

can anyone tell me what information I would find at the link Geo posted? I get a page saying I don't have permission to access it.

I have to say, it's pretty disappointing to see that a lot of people have the same issue, and the few FLS staff replies to be found are almost the opposite of helpful. :/

I tried all the sticky threads, as well as an hour or so reading all the threads returned in a search for catastrophic failure. I found that a lot of people have the same issue, and none of the threads had any solutions other than installing through the station launcher. I spent three days downloading the files, and I'd rather skip the game altogether than download them again.

What's the point of breaking the install download in to 5 files if we have to re-download them all should any one of them have an issue?

It's pretty discouraging to see that a lot of people have had the exact same problem on install, and none of them could find any dev help posting on the issue here. So far, "catastrophic failure" sums up my experience with this game pretty well. :(

Have you filed a support ticket so you can talk to a technical person directly?

I concur and agree completely with Salvatoris. I followed all his steps; would've been nice if I found the forum first and been aware of all these possible issues. I've submitted a ticket but realize that as a trial customer, I'm most likely last in queue.

BTW, my download time was ~20 hours, so I guess I wasn't alone in that department.
