I just have one stupid question here...

Are the EU servers actually located in europe? Cause I get better ping to the US servers ( < 200 ) than I do to the EU servers ( > 400 )... So is there any reason at all to play on the laggier EU server if they are both located in the same place?

Both the US and EU servers are hosted in the Seattle-USA. Let me see whether I can find the extended Dev response/blog regarding this.

Nope, the EU ones are being moved to the East coast (Virginia area) at some point. FLS has done testing and decided that EU servers don't necessarily have to be hosted in EU to offer good performance for us Europeans. :-)

What's the point of hosting EU specific servers in the US?!

"Good enough performance"?!?

OS Rubberbanding etc when the servers are on light loads... yay, and when another thousand players log in.... this will be fun, just scrap the (EU) tag damnit...

Ok see this from my point of view please...

I am a Swedish player from EU...and i am used to play online games on EU servers becouse of less lagg..
Now i find out that the server Hornigold is infact a French speeking server in EU and other EU server is for Germany...so were tha heck am i suposed to play ?? i am swedish but i speek English .Then i find out all servers are in USA. !!

So please pretty please can you guys Fix a REAL EU server for ENGLISH talking ??

And please MOVE the ROBERTS server were they talk english to EUROPA ..were the real english people live. !!

But whats more saad is..take Roberts server for example....now the players will only select England and pirates..no players will select spanish or french =/ going to be a booring game if you guys do special servers for special countries. for example French vs pirates England vs pirates, Spain vs pirates.......the hole game loses the nation vs nation part.

French server: French side win
English server: England win.
Spanish Server: Spain win.

So do this mean a swedish player can only play on dutch server to see some Nation vs nation action. ??

Becouse right now the roberts server only have England and pirates on it..

The developers did not think this thrue....

Its a beutifull and fun game but nation vs nation...lol yea ...right....

I fail to see any logic in what you are saying, im in Finland, i play on Rackham, MMO's hardly have the same issues with lag as normal first person shooter games and such, even if they did, it isnt very noticable.

Once again, you arent making any sence, why would players only go British and Pirate? Because the language on the server is English?
Any language can be spoken on any server, the difference between the language specific servers is more to the fact that the events held in that server are in Spanish/German/French, and therefore they attract more players who speak that language.

French server: French side win
English server: England win.
Spanish Server: Spain win.

Where did you get these facts? Just cause a player is french doesnt mean he will choose them as a Nation, besides, on the North American servers, British and Pirates outnumber French and Spanish, but the Spanish will allways rule the sea's ;P

Id say British and Pirates compose about 60-70% of the playerbase on all most servers, good, i wouldnt wanna be on the side with the majory anyway.
