So, should I start the long grind for epic Tortuga gear, or will it be nerfed soon after I got it, like usual... Glad to hear most of the useless junk drops are going away!

For me, RVR is the cornerstone of this game. And I know alot of players who feel the same way. Or actually I should say, 'knew', because tons of those players have left the game by now.
With this in mind I cannot understand why so little effort gets poured into the RvR aspect of the game. Aside from some minor changes (blockading&couple new maps spring to mind) it has been basically the same for 3 years now. A quick glance over the suggestion forum will yield you tons of clever and refreshing ideas about RvR. If there would be any indication from the side of FLS that they are even considering it, I would even be prepared to bundle them in a thread for you. What I'm trying to say here is, that the the RvR desperately needs an overhaul. Involve the governors more in RvR, make them matter more. You have this intricate governour- system in place, why not benefit from it more? At best it's lacklustre at the moment. And add more rewards for winning the map. Make portbattles and mapwins matter more. Even reward 1st/2nd rates for mapwins for all I care. I miss the times when RvR was fun and dynamic. All I see nowadays are empty portbattles. And when was the last time we had 4-way RvR? Just think about it, and how much that would add to the game. I know this an incoherent post, but I just had to get this off my chest. But I hope you get the picture: I get sick and tired of reading all these devlogs about new pets, new swords, re-balance attempt nr. 39 or new towns. Instead build on Potbs strengths, expand RvR, keep it fresh, keep it dynamic and keep it exciting and I promise you that you will see a sharp increase in players. There's so much potential when it comes to this game, it almost breaks my heart to see it being squandered away like this. |
"Balance"
Oh dear God I hope more "balance" doesnt mean more nerfing!

GL Fodderboy and I must say my expectations to this game are rising from what I could read from the Devlog.

Good luck in your new position Fodderboy!
But I'm posting more-so for another reason.. Maybe the message is trickling through the layers already (no helpful comment from my support ticket or me slapping Rhaegar in IRC). But the API feed for Roberts is not updating anymore for about a week already now. |

Good to see FLS is opening up to the new era and seem determined to face it. I am like Brig excited to see the changes and/or further development on the RvR in the F2P climate, but also the class tweaking we've been promised. Good luck on your new assignment, Fodderboy!

Yes good luck Fodderboy! I hope things work out well for you! But it's pretty much as everyone else has already said...the reason why this game seems to be dying is because nothing new that's of any value seems to make it into the game. Pets are cool and Bey's Retreat I thought was excellent. But ever since P&P, the pvp seems to have gone down hill. Penalty stacking made this otherwise dynamic game read like a book--a children's book at that. In fact, penalty stacking might have been the reason why you are currently finding it necessary to reduce all the obsolete items. Nobody uses the outfitting drops because they're not worthwhile in actual battle.
This game has so much potential. Sadly, all of it seems to get wasted because many players with excellent ideas get chronically ignored. You have a suggestion box with ideas that are so wonderful, yet nobody ever does anything about them. Please start making some meaningful changes and please be more involved on the webpage to keep us abreast of what's going on. Thank you |
