I've retried as well as added a note to an earlier support ticket I opened.
Is it just my system balking? Quote:
Other than SOE Support's first suggestion of installing the latest LP3, I have not seen any further recommendation; however, by observations alone... I play primarly on a Laptop and aware of it being nearly min spec - towards an effort of getting anywhere close to having the UPDATE finish without the 1004 Error in any flavor of 'live' or Test Bed. At the moment I've completely Uninstalled PotBS - Defragmented and currently sitting with 14.6 GB available space. The LP3 Launcher 1st install requires 7.1 GB w/o a Test subdirectory; although, I did copy the Piggs\ elsewhere to save reFetching the bulk of them IF the download would just not abort. Quote:
Any Hints as to what to try next? (I even disabled Firewall, and still...) (Opinion) - I was able to sail on both 'live' and Test Server prior to the 2.5.6x build updates - I find it hard to believe I'm the only player affected. ![]()

I dunno, it works for me. I hope the ticket you logged was with SOE. I know this sounds silly but have you tried rebooting your machine or your router?

Folks, anyone who had the out of memory problem in 2.5, please test this and let us know how it is now! We eagerly await your input!

SOE Support Ticket #: 110609-000281 I'll try a system reboot next, as I was sailing about in Pirates 2.5.60 when I got the System message that server is going to be patched in 30 mins, so it is something new as a patching error since 2.5.61 was enabled for login. I've had hit & miss luck with SOE support for technical issues, but will try to continue to wack Update on the launcher a few more times and even switch back to 'live' to see if I get the same error just patching 2.5.60. Update: Having similar issue patching live, so I'm unsure why. Update2: As instructed by SOE Support, reInstalled LP3, but as of yet still getting UPDATE errors. FWIW - I'm not seeing a left sidebar link to SOE support, might be worth adding one? |

Only able to play for 15 minutes before work.
All good - but then there's a good chance that I would not have spotted anything in 2.5.60.0 in this short time.

Played about 45 minutes last night in 2.5.61 without any kind of crash.
But then I had no crash trouble with 2.5.60, so not that helpful I guess. You need someone with OOME issues to test it. |

I've just finished a rather longer session. Not going out of my way to crash as I wanted to get into lots of battles to check some other stuff - and battles weren't a problem in earlier 2.5 builds - but I did plenty of hops into and out of MT and Tortuga between battles.
I saw not a hint of anything wrong. Not particularly conclusive as I don't notice a great deal in 2.5.60.0, but at least I don't think you have made things worse with this build.

One thought (and I admit I am no expert in this) is that something is set too high in your graphics settings - or too high for 2.5 though it might have been fine for 2.4. You can set (most of) your graphics settings manually in My Documents\Pirates of the Burning Sea\prefs.xml. Alternatively you can delete this file entirely and the game will load default settings based on your system.
