Default A sad feeling..

I really like this game; the whole atmosphere, certain scenery, graphical touches and most of of all I think the helpful and kind Devs and playerbase....but...theres a feeling of dullness creeping up to me

I barely and shortly log in after my 3 week enthusiasm of the game. I cant really put my finger on it but I guess it has to do with the lack of content, exploration and socializing . Last FRiday I was faring with my little new ship and doing certain fights and I just thought: "There really is nothing to do besides reading chat channels for me"

Perhaps I should have taken a more casual approach to the game after my first rather dedicated weeks..

Is there anyone else that has a similair feeling?

This isnt intended as a whine post at all....just a concern I have..I wanna play those 3 months I subscribed for but lost my appetite

Note: I started playing WoW again too because of it :\

I feel about the same.

I have re-subbed to LotRO for now, but intend to return here is if this game adds more.

I was in beta off and on from the start and do enjoy playing at times, but it's just a game that doesn't keep my interest for long periods of time. Hopefully that can be changed.

I'm usually a short-time mmorpg player: WoW became boring for me after 3 months, and LOTRO didn't survive the 60th day (the initial statement it's not really true, I've played UO for 5 years and EVE for 3). But here I'm having a lot of fun: i'm lv 43, and I have a lot of quest to do yet, I'm producing ships and outfittings with some friends, so I have to move item from port to port; then I have to defend our ports from enemy's attacks, and join the spanish alliance in our conquest effort; my guildmates may need help in OS or in some quest, or there's a FT that really need to go to that port in the red zone, and needs an escort. Then there are port battles, alliance and society meetings in ts, forums to read and a blog to update :P
So I have to admit that I'm never bored, and plenty to things to do.
How's your society? How's your wallet, can you afford a pvp evening? What's your level, have you already capped? Apart from that, maybe you have simply played too much in a too short period and need a break..

Yes I feel that way. To me there really is only two things to do and that is kill the 10,000 NPC on the open sea or do a mission when you find one worth doing. The PVP is fun if you get into a decent group because most Solo PVP just doesn't happen often. But even PVP is somewhat the same thing after you do it a few times but it is the more exciting aspect of the game it is just not practical if you just want to log on and have some fun.

Good game though after it gets some more release patches with some goodies or hope so anyway.

I said for a year before release that it would be hard too keep people playing without the raids and dungeon style places to explore and find rare loot and such. Not a real dungeon for say but dangerous places that could give high reward. People complained they hated that and hated the way MMO's used that system. But in reality successful MMO's base their game around it. They said a "Smite ye Cannon of Doom" would ruined the game and it would but it didn't have to be a ungodly item.

Well the problem is the risk-reward is broken and I have nothing to excite me about to log on for very long. People may hate the NPC epic raids and loot etc but they are a minority obviously.

The problem is the lack of Social / Character Interdependency.

It seems to be the last thing that MMO's developers take into consideration. If I want to play a "Multi Player" game I'll fire up XBOX Live.

I play MMO's in search for a deeper sense of community and social interaction. Whither that be tools to Sand Box or RP with or Goals to work together such as Player Cities and Society Rewards it really seems like every new MMO puts less & less into this aspect of the game.

I don't get it.. It's the only thing special that an MMO enviroment can create that is different than other Genre's. Without this part of the game it is nothing more than a "Grind".

Granted I am still very low level and no where near a point to start engaging in PVP ~ So I may change my opinion when I reach a higher level...

If the subscription has not started, you can still cancel the 3 month and switch over to monthly. Just log on to the Sony Station web site. I had a 6 month subscription but decided to switch to monthly because of that same feeling you discussed.

I like the game and want it to be a success, but there is something missing. I think FLS should set up a player feedback survey. I have seen many similar concerns posted.

They did mention in the 1.2 patch whenever that will be released, will contain a large amount of content from what I remember. Then 1.3 will have a lot of new things as well.

I can't remember where I was reading it, but it was posted by a FLS employee.

Yep, pretty close to my feelings. I don't think I will try any new MMO's unless they are out for at least six months and I can get an objective opinion on them (good with the bad) from the people I trust.

Seeing POTBS I came to appreciate LOTRO more (each to its own, that is my prime game of choice).

If this game apply some changes int he future I might come back, however I suspect changes will be too little and too late. That is if they happen at all. At this time the promised additions are between six months to a year away.

For me it is a question of good consumerism as I will not pay full price for half a product on the promise that other half might be delivred in some shape, form and quality later on. If I pay $15 to FLS for this I am making a bad deal since I can get more for my money somwhere else.

LOTRO wasn't my cup of tea. I got to level 50 with my Dwarf Guardian and completed the first raid instance on the first day it was released. The content was over very quickly and the instances/story line quests were good, but way too short.

I haven't played it since they released the huge patch after the raid instance content patch.
