Default Loot

Ok so is there anything you can do to increase the loot you get or what you get? Does attacking a convoy get you more? If not what is the benefit of doing so? If you increase the level of difficulty at that dude in the town, does that increase your loot and items you can get?

Thanks in advance

Loot is a random spawn but has some 'controlling' factors. For instance, you are more likely to get commodities like Tobacco and Gold from merchant convoys. From warships you are more likely to get ammo.

What about if you raise the difficulty level? Does that have any affect on the loot?

Changing the difficulty with the Port Captain changes the level of the ships in missions. The loot tables are based on the level of the ship you defeated. Fundimentially you will be getting better loot, not more loot.

This has no effect on Open Sea combat or PvP combat.

Merchant NPC ships do tend to drop more loot in my experience. However if you're talkinga bout OS merchant ships they usually come in large packs (from what I've seen, 3~8 ships vs 1~3 on war ships/pirates)
