Default How to Play PotBS Invincible using US Client

Ok, this is a temperary fix i found which works (for me), so if ur game crashes or something dont blame me =P. Not endorsed by FLS or anything either.

Note:
US Client: refers to the folder you installed your US Sony PotBS game.
Bigpond Client: refers to the folder you installed your Bigpond PotBS game.

Heres how it works.

1) Download the Installer from bigpond's site (just the first file).
2) Install the game (do not install in the same folder as your US client or ur gonna overwrite everything).
3) Copy over the pigg folder from US Client to Bigpond Client.
4) Run PotbsUpdate.exe on Bigpond Client till game launches.
5) Exit Game.
6) on the US Client rename the following files: "PotBS.exe" and "pirates.ini"
(i called them "PotBS.exe SOE" and "pirates.ini SOE" but the naming doesnt matter just so they do not get overwritten.)
7) Copy over the following files from the Bigpond Client: "PotBS.exe", "pirates.ini", "PotBSUpdate.exe".
8) Now you can play on the Invincible server by clicking on PotBS.exe.

9) to Swap back simply swap over the files again.

Note: You still require an individual PAID account to play either the SOE or Bigpond client.

Hope this helps.

Cheers, Emonessity

PS: yes its an ugly fix, but it saves people an extra 5gigs with a 2nd client, which is what really counts.

I did not do anything after #4 and both clients run smoothly ,only thing that worries me is a lot of info still goes to the Pirate's of the Burning Sea folder in the Document's folder.

If i were mean... i would say something like "try reading the last line of the post, or the Title of the thread." however im not so:

The purpose of this method is that you can play on both US and Oceanic servers using one client. Saving yourself the space of having to keep the 2nd one.

Also as for your other question. The files stored in My Documents are merely the following: Personally preferences such as UI Settings, Game Settings, Keybindings, Screenshots and Game Logs. So there really is no problem with the two clients sharing the files.
As you would have noticed when you first launched the Oceanic client, your game retained all graphic settings and UI settings.

This is probably a pretty bad plan. It works when the server versions are synched up. But that's not going to always be the case. For example, right now the US/EU client is at 1.1.71.0, but the Australian server is 1.1.69.1 ... Which means that now the clients aren't compatible.

I know it'd be nice to cut down on space, but you will have issues with it.

Thought that may happen, noted!

so all i do is dl GAclient (first part/installer) then install it , then i copy over the piggs from my sony install to the GA version

i did that but when i start the GA client it gives me an error (this programe has had an error please tell microsoft about it thingie) and gos back to desktop

*Edit: this time just copied over the GA exe/updater thing and the ini file to the sony client and its now updating itself , fingers crossed maybe i can run it from the sony folder instead of the GA folder

*Edit2 nada not working, doing it the long slow way and downloading the whole game again........a CD would be nice, even an answer from GA support be nice too, seems they ignore their support section
