Why do so many people prefer the MC Xebec over the Poleacre? I've compared the stats and they don't seem to be too drastically different. That and the Poleacre eliminates the downwind weakness of the Xebec. I'm not looking for a statistic summary, I'd like to pick the brains of those who have sailing experience in both.

the polacre is new to the game but the xebec has been around for ages its probably what people are used to. However I was looking at the polacre as well and decided i probably would like it better then a xebec.

Can it sail as well as the Xebec close hauled?

When I looked up the info on the Polacre, it said it was very similar in nature to the Xebec. However, the level on the Mystique Polacre was 26. You can get the MC Xebec 4 levels sooner. I really like the MC Xebec and I have plans to give the Mystique a try after the level cap lifts.

Outfittings make a difference. The Xebec is a Medium ship while hte Polacre is Large. So the MC Xebec can get better outfittings as well as having better base defence.
