This is to you beta vets. Imagine a month or more from now when the more hard-core gamers have gotten to level 50 and are playing the end-game in earnest. Will lower-level players really be able to participate? How? How low (30s? 20s?) How important is their contribution?

Couple of can easily be made here. 1. Ship combat in PVP is currently more risky and with that risk comes a degree of reluctance to risk a ship that player cannot afford to replace in the near future. 2. Many 'small or Midsized' ships have sailing characteristics or other attributes that make them desirable for PVP.
Both of these items will contribute to players choosing smaller ships for pvp for a least some of their battles and if they lose the bigger ship in choosing a smaller ship until they get the reserves up to buy another big ship. Player skill also is a factor here. It doesnt matter what size ship you are in if the person you are taking on doesnt know how to handle their own ship. A lvl 15 or 20 can sink a much bigger ship if they bigger ship does dumb stuff. |

Yes. Ships like sleek xebecs, sleek packets, MC sloops, and lancers make great tacklers and debuffers. Furthermore, an extra player helps you earn contention quicker. We never turned away low level ships in PvP groups.

I dunno if I'll do it again in live...but on the free-ship OB days I harassed frigates and SoLs in my MC sloop...it was quite fun and funny

Its all about the tactics... I was in a PvP group with a xebec who's only purpose was to catch ships on the OS give his position and wait for us to arrive.

Lowbies can also make great bait to tempt someone into a battle.
