Default On the Subject of Gold Farming

Pirates of the Burning Sea takes a strong stance against the practice of gold farming. In fact, we have already banned individuals who were spamming players with their gold farming services while in game.

We are actively monitoring gold farming sites, and we will investigate all reports of alleged transactions, following up with the appropriate disciplinary actions, which could include confiscation of grey-market gold, and ultimately banning accounts that sell or buy this gold.

If you are approached by someone seeking to sell you gold, you are asked to file a support ticket by typing /support in game, or by visiting our support site at http://support.flyinglab.com/. This is the best way to report this activity, and posts in the forums will be promptly moved to an administrative area.

You are encouraged to share as much information as possible with Flying Lab staff, including the character’s name, the time of the incident and any links they may have shared with you during the solicitation. Attaching screenshots of the incident will also help our investigations a great deal.

Best,
Aether

Print Screen
and then opening Paint and ctrl-v to paste the image

Thank you FLS for taking a hard stance on this. In a game like this it is very critical that farmers be judged and executed accordingly. Glad to see the stance is harsh in this department, as it should be. I get in MMO's for those that don't have the time to do allot in a game , the simple solution of gold farming seems very tempting still does not make it right.

Also it is good that you are not only removing the farmers, but giving the buyers warnings, do it again and adios, with again the economics in this game it is soooo needed to keep this clean.

Thnx again!

Hard action needs to be taken now. There are going to be some casualties but anyone caught buying or selling needs a ban .

One of our guild now gets so many tells its impossible to play properly. I have now turned the group tab into a tell only tab and stopped tells on the main tab altogether.

As a comunity we need to stamp on this and refuse to buy anything from these people. Anyone caught buying should get a 24 hour ban for a first offence, do it again and a life ban.

Anyone selling should be permanently banned for the game.

Unfortunatly FLS needs to employ a person just to look into this and enforce harshly the bans.

Good topic!

And I totally agree with DruTheRed, no mercy for goldsellers and a temporary/permanent ban for people who buy from goldsellers ingame.

It would be so easy to illiminate gold sellers from ALL games but currently no company has chosen to do so. Makes you wonder why?

Simply this... NO transfer of gold or goods from one character to another physically. You can mail other characters on YOUR account gold and items but NOT anyone else. All sales are accomplished through an auction house period.

Therefore... You can still "twink" your own characters, but basically cannot give stuff to another. Now I'm talking about all games here, not just POTBS.

Problem solved. Gold sellers... Out of business.
