Pre-order customer unable to register landing party code

FLS, I am not sure if you can do anything about this, but this launch has, from my perspective been one incredible cluster-f***.

I pre-ordered from Amazon.com. They sent me the pre-order code in an email, I entered it and it workedfine. I played for 2 weeks. Took 1 character to lvl 21, 1 to lvl 18 and 1 to lvl 8. I was happy, all was good with the world.

Today, the world fell apart. Amazon sent me a second email with my "landing party bonus code", shich, I assume is the code that I should enter as my retail code. I tried logging in today, and got an error that I was not registered and I needed to enter my activation code. I selected "enter activation code" and got to a sony station page asking for my code. I entered my landing party code, and clicked OK. I then got a message saying I was not subscribed to the game.

I checkled the forums and found sage advice from various pundits saying that you needed to enter your credit card information first, so I went back to the page and enetered my credit card information. I then tried to enter the activation code again, and got the error that I was not subscribed. I decided to do an online chat with Sony to try to get an answer. I was 39 in the queue. After a little over 2 hours of waiting, I finally got through to TSR Glenn M.

I described my problem to Glenn, and he said that the code was invali8d and that I needed to contact Amazon to get a new code. I said wonderful, so I called Amazon. I got Ming Lee or someone like that. At any rate I suspect English was her 3rd or 4th language. Definitely not 1 or 2. After several minutes of spelling my name for her, she finally got that. I told her that Sony said the code that Amazon had sent me for POTBS was invalid, and they suggested that I contact Amazon for a new code. She said "no no no, you need conact Sony to get new code". Needless to say I was quite frustrated at this point. I asked her if I should send an email to Amazon and she said that would be good.

I suspect that this is going nowhere. I have fallen into the pit of despair. I really do not want to be an "SOE SUCKS" bigot, but they are making it hard for me to defend them on this one. I paid $49.99 for a game that I got to play for 2 weeks. Apparently, in order to play this for any lenght of time, I need to go to a retail store and actually pick up the4 game to get a code that will work, because despite taking my money, the game is really not available online.

Is there anything that FLS, SOE or anyone that you have contact with able to do anything about this, or will I need to escalate this to the Better Business Bureau, Attorney General of the State of Maine, or someone else?

If you can't tell, I am relly frustrated. I have never seen anything as messed up as this. I have been frustrated at every turn, and received absolutely no assistance from Sony or Amazon.

The Landing Party key is not the same as a Game Key. Are you having Amazon ship you an actual box copy of the game? Because if so, the activation key you need will be in that box.

I have the same problem. Amazon is sending me the box but I have no idea when it will arrive. So how do I get the activation code without the box?

You need the box. The code they sent you needs to be activated after you activate the code in the box. Hope you paid for fast shipping.

That was not what I was led to believe in reading these forums. I read several forum messages athat said that the pre-ordercode was one thing and the "Landing Party" code was the launch code so that those of us who preordered could be on today. It didn't work. I realize that when I get the box, whenever that is as the anticipated ship date is Jan 26 should work. The landing party code is supposed to work.

Check the forums. You will see taht is what was promised. That is what I expected. If the landing party code was not supposed to work today then what is it for?

Apparently,m it is for nothing because it doiesn't do anything.

The landing party key simply makes the preorder bonuses available to players after launch.

and it was the game code out of the box with 2 disks, not the pre board box.

The landing party code allows you to continue claiming the parrot and swords after release. Nowhere on the forums does it say that the landing party code will let you play the game on 22/01/08. If there is something to that effect that a FLS staff member did not say it.

Actually, Rev has said it so many times in this particular forum and across the others that I repeat it in my sleep.
