Default Man, am I disappointed in the Launch...

I played closed and open beta....I spent the 10 bucks for the pre-launch goodies, and I did it all on an outdated Pentium 3 class machine with an Nvidia 5200...The game ran fine, no problems, other than some extended loading screens at open sea... To combat this problem , and STRICTLY for purposes of playing this game, I went out and bought a BRAND SPANKING NEW Vista machine ( 2.4ghz Pentium Dual-Core, 3gb RAM, GeForce 8800) and now the damn game wont even open??? What did we spend all those months doing beta for if this is how it works on launch day? Im out $10.99 for the pre-launch package, $49.99 for the full retail, and I spent over $900 on a new PC, just to play this game...and to top it all off, the support website is currently not responding. Im so hopping mad right now, I dont even know the words to use. All I can say is WTF ?

well many of us play on vista so I do not think it is a game issue. I assume you downloaded it from the disks. Does the launch pad not open?

And have you disabled your firewall?

The launch pad opens, it will update as needed...Then when i click play all I get is a white screen that says "Are you sure your machine meets the minimum requirements?" ( I greatly exceed all of them....) "Are you sure your resolution is at least 1024x768?" ( Ive tried every single resolution available...) "Is your video card set up to allow hardware acceleration?" ( of course it is, why would I EVER turn that off?...)...Support has no answers, or if they do , they sure as hell haven't contacted me. I am LIVID at this point. ( and yes, I have disabled the firewall and Norton)

I had a post all typed up and then iexplore crashed. It was great!

So in looking at your dxdiag and client log it the line:

ERROR Startup: Vertex shader version too low (0.0 < 2.0)

Indicates that directx isn't able to get the correct vertext shader version from your card, which should certainly support it. I believe (the person who would know the answer for certain is out of the office) that from the dxdiag you do not have full support of DirectX 9 installed which is needed to run the game. Try running the installer from the Microsoft site and restart. If that does not work, it would would be worth trying to download and install the DirectX 9 SDK.

Microsoft DirectX 9 End User web install
