DicE ROLL till broken in german versin of game same counts for gruop strange u dont see the gruop strange on OS if u have your game in german please fix it!!

Default Commendation Exchanges

Well, the changes since the last build are good, but not enough in my opinion.

Comments in no particular order
  • Every commendation should have a turn-in useful for level 50 captains. Royals/CBEs are fine because of the writs, especially since they are now tradeable, but more work should be done with the others.
    My best guess is is to give ammo turn ins for every level. How about:
    Code:
    10 Commendation for Justice	10 Crate of Canister Shot
    10 Commendation for Skill	20 Crate of Star Shot
    15 Commendation for Honor	 7 Crate of Bronze Round Shot
    This is particularly important for the Pirates whose econ exchanges are pretty useless. But then, they always have been - and that is how it should be because as we all know, Pirates don't do econ
  • Pirates now only get 1 Superior Crate for 10 Ensigns, so why do nats still get 3 for 10 Honor Comms?
  • The econ exchanges are still all over the place in terms of value. I was going to offer suggestions but as I was working my way down the list, I realised that with only a very few exceptions, I cannot come up with anything better than what you are replacing. And the defects in the original exchanges are only due to 1.12 econ changes. So, please keep the original exchanges with the following exceptions:
    - By all means change Canister to Grape Shot but keep it at 20 Courage/Pennons for 18 as the two types of ammo are economically the same.
    - after hmming and haaing over Hardtack, 10 Justice for 23 seems ok because of the labour.
    - 12 Justice for 10 Rum should probably be 12 for 15 Rum.
    - 10 Skill for 14 Copper should be 10 for 32
    - 20 Skill for 17 Leather should be 20 for 25, maybe as high as 20 for 35 depending on how you wish to treat labour (Isildur it seems ignored it completely)
    - 33 Honor for 5 Brass should be 33 for 6 Brass
    - 4 Banners for 5 Rum should be 5 for 7.
    whatever you do, please look again at your Rum, Iron, Silver, Gold and Brass exchanges.
  • I really do not like those crates. I took a peek inside one. Ok, so it wasn't too bad, but I would have liked a lot more hull patches.
I do have misgivings about the first item in the list as I hate player econ being undermined, but I think it even more important that players think these tokens are worth something. It doesn't have to be ammo; Experts or other (named) consumables might be ok and I always liked the Captured Standard for Gunpowder exchanges.

I might add I have so far only looked at Privs, Cutts and Buccs.

With one day and a sample size of one, the supply crates look much better, though the loot items might still be a little light. I guess I just don't get the point of being so cautious with non-econ items...

I think the AW needs more than just a speed reduction to be honest; either accel or some firepower needs to go.

I don't know about the AW because I haven't been able to sail it. However with it's polars I'm really not particularly concerned about it having 17kn base.

The Crate drops look a lot more realistic, still not monetarily worth it, but a massive improvement.

Here was my random roll on stuff, the first rate powders do look tasty:

I didn't say the AW was too fast, I said the speed nerf was not enough to bring it in line. It either needs to drop some accel or some guns.

Funny, I was told I was stupid noob for claiming you're not gonna gank anyone in AWRGs. 22 knots max a close haul? Looks like I was right. Even the current Mercy could escape that.

and 53 OS speed. wow.

i disagree here. the ship still turns like a brick. and has really bad wind angles. making it only somewhat useful for line fighting. maybe ok for PBs. but as a rat we prefer to be able to crash lines and thus need good brawling stats on our ships. this ship doesnt have those still.

i think the wind angles need to be improved. accel could go up abit more. its top speed could come down to about 16.5 or so. we dont need anther gank boat. if the wind angles were improved and accel went up abit more maybe 1.2 or so. then i'd agree with maybe dropping one gun off each broadside from the gun deck. it has good fire power just no way to bring it to bare except in a line fight. i also feel its turning needs abit more tweeking. not sure how to explain but maybe more turning accel or something.

these thoughts might make it more acceptable in a 1v1 setting. also, thats what i prefer. so depending on what the designers are trying to achieve with this ship would determine how much weight i'd put on my thoughts.

Edit: supply crates and loot crates, need to be vastly improved. otherwise no comment on them at this time.

I agree that commendations should have more effective values.

I had posted on the Inflation thread the question of their value as Offering/Buy Order purchasing.

Calculating against Testbed's seeded AH pricing for those econ items which can be gained from the Exchanger, Hardtack is worse value for its trade usage; however, Brass Ingots are comparable to their production costs (~ 750 dbs).

One other observation about the metal exchanges is that Copper was converted from the more expensive ingots to ~ 40 db ore - - agreed this exchange needs a bit more value.

Lastly, a suggestion for both Pirates and Nationals - how about adding Exchanger items or package bundles which would be required for Mission quest turn-in such as Salamon Deschamps' A Pinch of Saltpeter in San Marcos. He is looking for 5 Sulfur & 5 Saltpeter as well as 10 Black Powder barrels. Add 10 more to complete the Refined Gunpowders needed for Zoe Franche in Pointe-à-Pitre.

Lastly Remus, I seem to always have plenty of Star Shot; however, an alternative might be crates of Chain Shot since it is not offered by Junk Dealers.
