I came up with an idea to make Pirates more relevant in RvR.
Create a "Flag" so that Pirates can contract and work for a nation, such as a Privateer, for a certain amount of time. When the pirate accepts the "job" to work for a specific nation, say to flip a specific port, or to defend a specific port, they get to put or reduce contention on that port. When a pirate accepts a "job" make that pirate Flagged for that nation. meaning, other nations can attack them at any time, like a regular PvP flag. The Pirate would still be flagged for general PvP, so thus attacked by a national of the nation he's working for. This should come with a Reputation modifier, so if you sink a Pirate who's working for your nation, you get reduced reputation with your nation. These Pirates would also get invites to those Nations' Port Battles. Wait, I know what you're thinking, and I have thought of a solution for this. Pirates who work for a Nation would only get half, or 1/3 of the points as normal for contention efforts. So you wouldn't be able to fill a PB with JUST pirates. The nationals could still get in there and do their thing how ever they want to do it. It would only allow for a few pirates to get into the PB. This keeps the RvR for those nations solid. This would also increase the relevance of Pirates in RvR. Pirates would also receive Reputation with what ever nation they worked for. This way Pirates could still get access to certain missions that give insane rewards. OR, they could get MoV's/MoT's or CoC's and such as rewards also. I'll leave the rewards in this idea up to the Devs. |

This is not a new idea. It has been said multiple times.
Pirates are really not meant to be relivant in RVR if you want RVR roll a National

what i believe the OP was trying to do was simply make it so the rat nation has more of an impact in RvR. the game is called PIRATES of the Burning Seas, not NATIONALS of the Burning Seas, so it only makes sense to give them a broader impact on the map. holding a town in a raid for a few days just isn't the same as completely flipping a port and taking governorship, and this is coming from a new player just now WANTING to get into pvp.
I'm not saying that I agree with the OP about signing on with the nats, but something could be I believe. I dunno what to do about the issue myself, but it would be nice if the rats played a bigger role. |

No make its easier..
When Pirates hit a national port and win the PB they keep the town for 4 days, so pirates win +15 points during 4 days BUT when they give back the port to the nationals they loose 10 points,,, so we only keep 5 points,,, we should keep 10 points When a nation conquer another nation port they win 13 points!!!
