A lot of people use those small ships to carry deeds. As it is, if you're in a level 55 ship (which is a usual OS ship), you cannot tag rafts/yachts/longboats anymore as they are still, somehow, level 1 ships, thus giving its owner a 51 group strenght.
I propose to raise that to level 5. They're already fast on the OS, with very good polars and insane acceleration. There is no need to give them a free pass on the OS too. All ships have had their "group strenght" levels rounded up, save for those. It's time to adjust. |

Sail a ship with level 50 strength or lower and you can attack any level 50 you like.

Any evidence?
Not, I might add, that I have any objection to non combat ships being made any level you like.

After all battles..1v1 low lvl 18 onwards, I have only ever got a Herm Mc deed ( I was going to say HMC deed lol) , I realy think its all a myth all this low lvl deed hauling.
But who knows there could be a good catch out there!! Plus If i was sailing with a expensive deed, i would rather run it on my 50 than low lvl. Ducky ![]() Edit: I do see where your coming from Alej, as the rafts/yachts/longboats are hard to catch.

i have not once gotten a deed from a low level hauler. Using method of deduction that would make the chance extremely high that the next one is carrying deeds!

Only ones carrying deeds around in the red are rats.

On Antigua, most people carry them in rafts, yachts, longboats, sloops, BTS, Fallen Refits. @Remus: That's from experience. No, I didn't take hundreds of screenshots but I did loot more than my share of deeds from lower level ships captained by lvl 50s. I'm just asking that FLS be consistent in its policies: if all ship levels are to be rounded up, let's do it for those ships too. |

It is not the worst suggestion, but you will have a problem to catch them if you aren't in arcadia anyway.

Except I haven't seen any arguments made for raising the group strength of ships likes BTSs and Fallens; I could be mistaken but I think these sailed by a level 50 can be attacked by any level 50 whatever ship they sail, and this is how it should be. As I say, I have no objection to non-combat ships like yachts being given higher combat strengths if it makes people happier; these aren't used by levelling players for normal gameplay purposes anyway and their Default Ship status means they cannot be used for greifing. I cannot imagine why anyone would use one of these ships for carrying deeds rather than something like a Fallen or a BTS, but hey! However I do strongly object to the idea in the other thread that low level ships ('normal' low level ships, usually sailed by levelling players, not things like rafts and yachts), ... that low level ships sailed by low level players should be attackable by level 50s just on the offchance that they may be smuggling deeds for level 50 players. Yes, a nervous player wanting to move a deed to a national capital for a refit or writ could create a new character to haul it for them nearly risk free, but I would hazard that these are ship buyers moving single deeds, not ship builders carrying many deeds. Yes, a level 1 in a fallback can only be attacked by a level 3 in a La Diligente (the best option), and if it particularly worries you I would have no objection to fallbacks being given group strength 5 to match their true ship level. And then you could hang around capital cities on your level 5 alt in a Jamaica - easily the match of any of the starter ships - just in case one of these ship smugglers tries to run the red. I wish you well.
