Default Highlights from the wardroom

The introduction of this separate forum still annoys me but if us non Captain Club's members are going to continually excluded from the clique can we at least have weekly/monthly highlights so we can have a Scooby what is occuring.

we don't have the right to know what's going on cuz we don't pay captain's club, i think it's okay to exclude us from everything that's being decided

The problem with the current situation is more that its so easy to ignore / not know that there is such a forum.

I would be surprised if there is very much on said wardroom forum, so I suspect the reason there are no highlights is down to the fact that it's a fairly empty and barren forum section.

Having no access to it therefore is not a problem, and not something to be worried about.

Problem is that if there is stuff on it, then to talk about it here would make the wardroom pointless too, so end the reason of paying for it.

Dammed either way.

Sry, but your wrong in the CC, the devs tell all of all upcoming patches, they also take what players are asking for upcoming patches into consideration, every question is answered to detail.

You should join you would be enlightened where this game is heading.

Ducky is right, a lot is discussed in there and the devs are actively engaging the community in a way they players have been asking for since I started playing. We ask questions and they answer for the most part in a detailed way to give us a glimpse of what they are planning to change/implement. Obviously they can't tell us everything but the level of interaction is far higher than I have ever seen from FLS in the past (though I am not exactly one of the old guard).

The idea of the wardroom from what I have seen is to treat CC members in a similar way to officers on a ship (hence the wardroom name). We feed questions/suggestions/information we see from the non-CC players into it (i.e. to the "captain") and the devs give the juicer information to us. We can then let that information filter down to the non-CC players (regular sailors). The problem is that isn't happening too much at the moment as I think that some CC people don't know what they are allowed to say, I know we are not allowed to directly quote posts in there but I don't really know if some stuff is supposed to secret. There is also the possibility of misinformation unless FLS themselves do the highlights if somebody hasn't understood something properly.

In part I see it as a free (in all except time needed for staff to post) way of giving extra benefit to subscribers and that is something many people have been asking for. At present there isn't a lot to distinguish premium players from CC and unless there are incentives to stay subbed FLS can't make cash (other than TA) and the game dies through not being profitable enough. If it were open to all it would just be one more way that those paying a sub get no real benefit over those that do. I know that doesn't please many people but I agree with it as long as that information does flow down to the non-CC players.

Generally most of what is in there is known in one form or another (LSBs are being made obsolete, new rates are the the way etc.). If you want more details post your questions and us "wardies" will do what we can to answer them for you

A monthly summary prepared by a dev would be a great improvement to the home page. It would show the wider community that stuff is happening because at the moment just seeing maintenance notices is hardly awe inspiring.

I agree on this. While I acknowledge that FLS is trying to provide meaningful perks to its CC members, I think regular communication is very helpful for keeping the overall community involved, and just as importantly, feeling involved.

Aye and the Navy has this thing called the Plan of the Day that is read at quarters every morning. It is the official bulletin covering all planned evolutions to occur that day.

Keeping people, especially customers in the dark is not a good idea. I am beginning to wonder if FLS is aware of the old axiom in sales that it takes six times the effort/expense to get a new customer than to keep an old one. Taking the customer base for granted is not a good idea.

This is exactly my point. It is the CC members who should be doing this but it isn't happening which is why non-CC players are being kept in the dark (and unaware the wardroom even exists).

Personally I think the wardroom title should still be visible even to those who have no access so people are at least aware of it even if they can't get in.

Anyway, I have asked for guidance on the matter as I can agree with several points on both sides and it isn't my decision to make
