I'm an EvE veteran, having played EvE Online since its release. Claiming that EvEs combat system was too simple or that certain combat mechanics were stupid is something unexperienced players commonly claim, due to not being aware of the combat mechanics in their entirety. Actually, EvE Online offers one of the most complex, yet not clearly visible combat mechanics. Being more experienced and inheriting a deep understanding of EvEs mechanics allows you to overcome seemingly stronger opponents (e.g. Assault Frigate VS Battlecruiser + Battleship). Same goes for ECM - if you understand the system and adjust your fitting, you may achieve a high ECM resistance by equipping one single item. Of course you have to sacrifice one low or med slot, but it is possible. @ontopic: EvE Planetary Interaction is actually a very unsatisfying and not fun to do feature. You basically setup structures, link them, adjust for maximum output and efficiency and finally have to haul tons of materials - if using an appropriate planet. When it comes to PotBS crafting, I would like to see a more simplified quick-craft option. For example, if I want to craft a Postillion Frigate I currently have to craft every single sub-ressource/material needed. When thats done, I finally craft the ship within the shipyard. It is a click-intensive feature which feels a bit overburdening for new players. A possibility to simplify would be to ... If all needed structures and/or materials for sub-materials are given, you may directly create complex products such as ships. The shipyard could for example list all needed lowest-tier ressources, as well as structures and workforce needed for the production. If everything is given, you may simply click one button and there you have your ship/complex product. |
