Lightbulb Feedback on my economics manager

Hello!

I am currently developing this manager to help me (and maybe others in the future) structure up and plan econ.

Launch
http://potbsemanager.hallros.com

Feedback
http://hallros.idea.informer.com

Please give me any spontaneous thoughts and feedback on what is made so far
If any type of information that you would like is missing etc.
That would be constructive criticism please

The whole manager works for any item you ask to produce, and the goal is to have it fully automated.

Note that its still early in development, unfortunately i dont have much spare time

(it's ok to leave feedback here aswell as the link above)

Looks cool, but I don't understand how to use it. I guess I fill in the top line (did Bronze round/10/24), then it should calculate where and how to produce it?

Yes exactly, you fill in wich item, how many, over what timespan and wich nations you are using, and the rest is calculated.

I recommend to try LSB for testing, since thats one of few items that has all associated materials added already.

I have many materials yet to add to the database.

Where have you got your recipe and structure information from?

You appear to have pre-P&P values with LSBs being 18 hours recipe time and a large shipyard having a labour factor of 0.5. These are now 36 hours and 1 respectively, but you do get labour and cost reductions from Port Infrastructure. However, I don't think Port Infrastructure levels (nor tax rates, for that matter) are available from the API so users would need to enter them manually, if you wished to include them in your manager.

The recipes and base structure labour multipliers are all up to date in Production Planner linked in my sig. You are most welcome to copy the data into your manager. If you need it reformatted to suit your use, I can probably do this quite easily so please let me know.

All information that cant be taken from the API has been entered manually in a database, taken from the unofficial potbs wiki at http://potbs.wikia.com. So they might not be up to date atm no. Thanks for the notice.

Port Infrastructure and Taxes for each port will be stored in the database, atm all calculations have a average value to work with, labour at 60% and cost by 30%, so those numbers are not precise either, i wish to include everything to get everything as complete as it can eventually.

I would love to import the data from your sheet, i actually was thinking of this and where looking at some csv->mysql methods as we speek.

If you wish to help me you are most welcome, im online at the burningsea irc chat most of the time if you wish to speak more about this, please tell me if you wish to use a different way of communication.

Thank you very much for your feedback

I haven't used MySQL, and of course I don't know your table designs so I don't know what format suits best. But it should be easy enough for me to create one or more csv files if you want; just let me know the order of the fields and I'll see what I can do.

By all means PM me.

Mostly based on entirely different Thread (about broken /Support), I saw your footer links and figured, sure I'll give it a try.

Your .JNLP runtime is not "signed" prompting if trusted content.
The title bar appears to use the same PotBS.ico file, which can lend to a small bit of confusion when minimized down to the program task bar.

I'm guessing Character IDs for MACER are yours; however, it doesn't appear they can be Removed even using NEW or DELETE on the setup pulldown menu.

Question - how would I identify my own Characters and given this is an online web interface, is there some confidence that the IDs for any other player are still secure?

Next - I realize that the PotBS API can sometimes be Hit & Miss as Armeagle has also experienced in the past, but I am interested how your Econ Manager handles the TestBed server feed.

Thank you for your feedback!

The entire application has recently been remade, since i chose to switch from web-based to Java Application based, so its still in early development.

Unfortunately software signing licenses cost ALOT of money, i won't prioritize this unless this application gets very popular in the future, so the trust-prompt will have to remain unfortunately for now.

Those characters actually were not mine, some other user added those It should now be fixed and you should be able to manage characters from the character window, the Setup menu dropdown is not yet implemented fully, the goal of that is to save/load/manage your econ setup.
I have added a demo account wich anyone can use, it will be the default login.

When you wrote this message the application did not use personal accounts, it was more of a concept example. Although i have now added a basic account feature, wich works for characters as this point.

At this point there is no functioning API feed for Testbed unfortunately, although i have sent FLS an email regarding this. So its entirely in FLS hands to fix this, and they won't have the API on their todo list anytime soon.
You can also see that ArmEagle's testbed map has not been updated for almost 190 days.
So my way to handle it is to exclude it for now, but if they fix it i will most certainly add it to this application.

One thing that is functioning properly at this point, is the Main Planner, where you can add all items you wish to make, and it will display what materials you need for it. At this point no reductions are included and no mots/movs are included.

Regards, LoDx

When I visit that link, I see an orange button.

When I click on the button, it gives me an error: http://img208.imageshack.us/img208/4778/javaerrord.jpg.

I went to Java website and downloaded some update, but it still does that.
