Question about 1st and 2nd rates

I didn't play back when the 1st and 2nd rates sailed the seas, but from what I can tell from forum posts, its a good thing that they were taken out of the game.

My question is, with them returning, its obviously a power boost to the nationals, do the pirates get any sort of new ships?

I don't know enough about the way the game used to be, or what ships which classes can sail, so just any general knowledge would be nice.

The argument to this is that we can just /takecommand (as a cutthroat), or /scavenge (and hope you get a deed)... otherwise I believe we're going to be left out. Another argument is that we have the Treason to fight these behemoths, but in the end, I believe the 1st/2nd rates would still beat the Treason.

all nations will get new rates... 4th mostly.. centurion is open 3rd rate...ATM for all!
it is flagged for rats and bucs if you sail it on the open sea...but! can take to port battles...
