As times have changed the ppl that have help shaped you to the player you are today.. To that I would I like to take the time thank. The few that have helped me evolve in the player I am today...
For starters: To Aurthor Thor... A crazy Australian Naval Sargent that played POTBS aboard his ship in the navy. He helped me get my first 4th rate and treason via Leveling a Bucc and building my ships... Not long after getting to golden carebear status in my eyes i got bored and took a break from mindless fleeting..Upon my return he was no long playing either... To HonestAbe, A sheriff in Oklahoma who is a jolly middle age man. That enjoyed a good old 6v1 to get free boats but really just enjoys kicking back with his peeps in vent (topaz Inc ect). I went from carebear to ganker... I sailed a Con sleek to provided the long-term battle chase. As pre stacking penalties speed fits were beyond broken...Not long after i was collecting my ships like a squirrel would preparing acorns for winter. Soon Abe gave me my first Red Devil and showed me how to handle the wacky wind points... Not long after he was sucked into Eve were he resides today... To Blue fish, taking his time to teach me avcom and sharing his build/tactics (which was decided upon my part to make myself a respectable avcomer after a embarrassing gank board via El Jesus vengi.) From there A Red devil Rageboarder was born... To Dreadlord, A gaming Greek who just likes to sink crap. Dreadlord and I made some Phercs and worked out a good stacking penalty build...showed me the ways of 1v1 and fighting tactics. Helping me transtion from a Rd to frigates. And of course all my fellow Rats out there... To name a few But not all, in no particular order..That help me learn group fights... Cannonball John Doc Flesh Abe Blasco Pedro James Wes Ect... Special thanks to RR,Serial killers & FBRD members for all the help/learning/grinding adventures. PS I never learned The Tony Cerb, Of the Sea BD, jeffs CB..maybe one day bud you can teach me.lol To those I have sailed with and still sail with today...Remember these are pixels but people are behind the screen... This is a summary of my PotBs story, Plz share yours and pay special thanks to certain ppl that changed a major part of your playing style/character. To those i say thanks and all my fellow comrades out there cheers...

I miss the old avcom system where I was actually good at it. Not great, but good.

Slappin I think you and I pretty much have the same game evolution.
I carebeared like crazy early on, especially as a society-less econ player who got his jollies from logging onto the game on the weekends just to see what had sold on the AH. Light-green font in chat box was the ultimate aphrodesiac. From there I got hooked up with a soc that taught me how to gank with pre-stacking penalty speed-fit minerva mc's. From there I tried 1v1 in a Vengeance, but had no idea what I was doing and got upset that I got boarded too often, so I started using Featureless Hull until I realized that I absolutely had to learn avcom. Once I learned how to avcom, I used the vengeance to rageboard and I loved it. From there my soc learned how to alpha spike and we ran in heavy frigates for some of the most epic 6v6 I've ever seen. Unfortunately now they all play Eve. I resorted to my rageboarding but then my avcom build got nerfed all to pieces and I've never been able to recover. So then I turned to RvR and tried my hand in a few skirm groups to relive some of that 6v6 epicness. It's been very enjoyable, despite the increased cost/risk of sailing an HMC. And just recently, especially with the advent of gank-prevention measures and ship combat strength as implemented by FLS, I've finally learned the Cap MC/Intrepid frigate 1v1, which I find to be about the most satisfying pvp I've ever done (apart from those epic 6v6 fights). /tiphat Slappin for a good thread. |

I would have to pay tribute to Rage Boarder. We have played together since Defiant, and I believe we are the best 2 man team in game. We have learned from each other through the years, and he has improved my game play to his level; although he still kicks my asx in avcom on a consistant basis. He has, and remains to be a loyal in-game and RL friend. He is reason I still log in and play today.
