I believe the conversation started off as an update occasionally, not constantly. Letting the customer base, even those playing totally free occasionally know what is in the works comes under the heading of common sense.

The last thing I was involved in that was super secret, you get banned for talking about it was the beta for PnP. That ended up being a total joke.

This is why I have asked for guidance as I don't think any such announcements should come from players having thought about it a bit more. Firstly, and you are spot on here, not being staff there is the potential that we didn't understand something properly and announce something incorrect. There is little aside from staff or other CC members to contradict somebody intentionally announcing something intentionally misleading too (omg, berthing fees are coming!). At the same time we can still answer questions posted in the other forums/in game and both problems exist with that too.

This is another problem as at present the CC players are little more than rumour-mongers. Several people just plain didn't believe me when I told them LSBs are going and with no posts I can point to/directly quote from FLS there is no real reason they should.

The more I think about it a highlights announcement from FLS makes the most sense.

Well, I may as well add my tuppen'orth.

It would appear that FLS have made some definite decisions about the next patch, and possibly subsequent ones too. The only one I am aware of being announced to the player base as a whole is the re-introduction of three-deckers.

I have no desire to see the Wardroom - I had little enough desire when I was running a subbed account. I have little desire to be able to put forward my own little feedback to proposed changes (although I do try to give useful feedback when the opportunity arises). If I really cared that much to be able to join in discussions on possible future changes, I would sub.

But I do like to know what is going to happen, be informed of the decisions that have been made, and this is where I feel FLS is severely letting us down.

I do not want to see CC members posting on the open forums or even on Nation chat (what you tell your society is your own affair) what is being discussed in the wardroom. I want FLS to announce changes themselves.

well, is it only me or has the level of information to the larger playerbase dropped significantly since the wardroom was introduced? I mean, I'm fine with subscribers getting jucier bits of info, but to give less to the rest of the playerbase just because of it is not a good idea.
