Dear FLS: Please stop nerfing the Couronne into the dirt.

The Couronne has never really been an equivalent to a 1st/2nd rate in PB play, much as the FT has never been equivalent to an NO in PB play. Efforts to "make the FT more desireable for groups/PBs" have generally just buffed the living hell out of the solo FT, and created some sort of weird expectation that "the merchant class SHOULD be the highest damage dealer in the game!"

I'm actually kind of liking the addition of the FT group repairs, as I think that gives the FT a stronger group skill than it has had previously; however, I'm not really sure where the Couronne fits into the new order of things. But frankly, I don't think it's ever really had a strong PvP role that I can recall in the last 4+ years.

With the way that Fairfax grinding will limit the number of 1st/2nd rates, the Couronne would have been a viable option if it had remained roughly equivalent of a 3rd rate. Now it can't even do that.

My point is that by making PBs Naval Officer only, FLS is making a big mistake in forcing customers to have multiple accounts (who may not want to) just to enjoy all aspects of the game. Other MMOs don't demand that you have alts in different races/classes just to enjoy endgame content. That would be stupid.

I'm not asking for the Couronne to be an equivalent of a 1st/2nd. I'm asking it to remain an equivalent of a 3rd. Under the new system which I mentioned already, 1st/2nd rates might not wind up being everywhere, leaving 3rd rates a chance to get in. But FTs are still out of luck because FLS thinks that not all classes should be able to enjoy all aspects of the game.

I also don't mind if the solo FT isn't buffed so much - and what we're really talking about here is the Khan, not the Couronne. By all means, adjustments should be made so that FTs can't be solo gods. But that's quite irrelevant to how strong the Couronne is because it has never been and never will be a solo ship.

I have done soloing with CMC lol and it kicked *** with marauder guns all the turn skills and some accel/turnfitting 2 shotted prince with it LOL, but now i probabaly can go sit in my SMT/or SMH lol...

I posted it in another topic I can't be bothered to go and find now but Fodder hinted at the possibility of a new war galleon a while before 2.11 hit testbed which makes me think he was aware of the fact that the nerf was likely to rob FTs of viable heavy combat ships.

this is just speculation, but I hope that the reason for this is to, at cost of cargo space, add heavier guns. It's the only logical explanation and I think I've read something like this in some devlog or fodderboy post somewhere...

I just don't get it why they reduce the guns on CMC, its a war galleon right?
I want to see anyone who spent like 3-4mil on a CMC to use it as hauler lol..

If its a war galleon then why don't reduce its cargo space? really simple solution.
TBH if rumors are true and they going to add a new FT colossal warship then i can understand all the nerfs, but i surely expect that new ship TA only too.

Its got big armor and big guns = warship, pve or pvp don't matter here and i remember the day when CMC was often used in PBs too.
