Default Help Us Test User Content 2.0!

We are very excited to announce that we will be beginning public testing of our new User Content 2.0 initiative today! While we’ve done extensive internal testing, it is important to us that we gather your feedback and experiences before these new User Content features are installed in a more permanent fashion.

We’ll run this test throughout the weekend, allowing our customers to try out the new voting process, as well as post new flag and sail submissions for review. We will in turn be spending some time making sure our admin process is in order by approving user content submissions using an exciting suite of UC 2.0 administrative features that will significantly improve the speed in which your items are approved for use in game.

We want to thank everyone for their patience during this time, we sincerely hope you enjoy our efforts. We look forward to adding your thoughts and suggestions to the process!

If you would like to help test UC 2.0, make sure you visit this link!

Best,
Aether

I've found one major flaw in the voting system for Flags/Sails. When 2 totally unacceptable post are put together to vote on you have no way of "not" voting on them. You have it so at least one always gets a vote and thats bad. Some of these designs are getting votes when they should not. I know that a unacceptable flag/sail will not always be with another each time, but it's still getting a vote and moving on to take up more voting spots when it should not. You have it so when we click on a link to report one as offensive it votes on the other automatically. Well what if both are offensive or unacceptable? There has to be a way to report both or say no to both. I'm guessing logging out and in while they are up would work, but thats not a simple solution...

As for other things; i haven't run into anything else major yet.

Unless they're identical, one design will always be a little closer to "ready" than the other. Which means that your vote still helps weed out the design that isn't ready.

The chances of that same design you reluctantly voted for getting paired with the other one you just saw (and did not vote for), or one of similar unreadiness, are rather slim. So while you may have "voted it up" one, it will get passed over many more times than that.

Keep the feedback coming, and enjoy!

Ah i found the "Voting" Link on side bar "resets" the items. So a good simple solution to my problem would be to relink the "Voting" Link under peoples Posting Credit Bar and rename it to "Reset Items". That way if 2 pop up we do not in any way want to vote on; then we won't and can just reset the items and vote on new ones.

This is not true sadly, i have had 3 groupings that both pictures were by far not ready, both either so horrid aliased/pixelated that you can barely tell what they are. Or they both are way too modern of designs. And having so one gets a vote no matter just compounds the time to ween through them. And i have seen images that i passed up popping back up with something thats just as unacceptable. And i've only done about 30-40 votes now.

- I'm seeing the same flags / sails repeatedly.
- It's possible to speed-vote without seeing the designs and rack up a huge amount of credits.

There really needs to be an option to pass over both choices and get two new choices even if you're willing to give up 'credit' for it. I've had the same bad design pop up 3 times in the last batch I went through and each time its been paired with one equally as bad.

I've had so many pairings that were bad on every single possible level that to say one is 'more ready' than the other isnt even close to the truth. Murphy's law makes the 'rather slim' chance come up quite a bit.
