To be more blunt about a persistant world:

It's a world that if you left and never came back(Unsub), nobody would give a crap...

How was that hard to understand? Why dont you give me a name of any MMO that has a smaller world then. This game really does lower the bar on MMO world size, argue that all you want. Yeah, I think its funny that the first OCEANIC MMO I've ever seen is coupled with the smallest world anyone has ever seen in the genre. Tell me that "the size is pretty good", rofl.

Persistent is a bad choice of word to use so I guess its frequently misused. Part of its definition is, "existing without significant change". No, I have never played a MMO thats existed without significant change. When you really think about it, this probably the worst game you could use the word persistent to describe. Dev's here would probably take offense to that kind of description as they pride their world being everchanging. Nothing you do here changes the world permanently to any extent. You dont even get a permanent rank or anyother kind of permanent recognition. This game has seen so many changes since its release its hard to believe that its makers ever had a clear view of what they wanted. Its also hard to believe that your actually willing to debate the subject.

What's the point in making the oceansize bigger? You like playing f.e. Silent HunterIII/IV without time compression, right?

It's not space with jumpgates. It's not a fandazeee world with deserts, swamps, snowy mountains, jungles, forests and rainforests bordering each other within a few miles. The world is small indeed, but upsizing it will be difficult.

Theres lots of point to make the ocean bigger, even though its never going to happen. Heres my original thoughts on it. http://www.burningsea.com/forums/showthread.php?t=26906

It's not about how much empty space the game has, it's about how much playtime you get out of it. A typical console game may have 20 hours of gameplay in it if you're lucky. A typical MMO needs to have hundreds of hours in it at launch. POTBS launched with a lot of good content (I've probably only done 25% of the quests) but falls short at the endgame.

Don't gong it if you don't even know what it means. Try Google.

Persistent means it's still there (and running) when you log out and your character still exists too. Every MMO I can think of has a persistent world. By comparison, FPS maps only persist for about 15 minutes and your character is completely "new" every time you log in. Single player RPGs don't keep running when you log off.

Regular updates can be found in single player games.
Rarely. We've already had more updates for POTBS than we've had for Team Fortress 2, which launched months prior. Non-subscription games (like TF2) have no incentive to release new content other than the kindness of their hearts, so they generally release little to none.

Anyway, this argument is silly. You're bitter, we get it.

Brought to you by Google as if I needed it.

I dont really have any arguement for that. These are the reasons I am disapointed with the size of the world. http://www.burningsea.com/forums/showthread.php?t=26906

Its a FPS like unreal... I havent played TF2 but I know unreal has its own content editor for endless possibilities, what could be better than that? How much content do you want in a FPS anyway? Other than that TF2 wasnt exactly released and abandoned. Its been out seven months?
