I didn't change the Wenden. I drastically reduced the cost of the Valiant 64 gun to bring it more in line with other ships of similar power. The Wenden is more comparable to ships like the Trinity and the Triumphant; the Valiant is more comparable to the Mordaunt.

Buccaneer skills:
The whole command line is kinda blah. They last for 3min and take 8min to recharge. Can't these work like the provisionier skills of the FT? That would make more sense and make them more useful. It is nice you can put all 4 up at once but then your a 3min wonder. All the shots are 2min or more reset timers when means you can spend a good deal of time waiting on shots to come back around. Most other classes have atleast one shot that is 1min or no cool down and is not conditional. The one shot we do get on the 2min timer is conditional on us taking less then 0.05% damage. Almost all of our shots are conditional. I would like to see less conditional even if it lowers the effects or take alot of the effects off. Or atleast a few shots that don't have conditions on them. Sweep the decks does good crew damage but it requires round shot. Is that intended? Would seem to me it should require anti personal shot. Survial Instincs gives us a +20 def for 60 moral and lasts for 45sec. Evasion gives a +10 for like 20 moral and doesn't go away unless your speed drops below 3. And def is nice and all but if your in close it is a total waste. Not sure what to do with this but maybe switch it to a resistance rather then defense deal. Or make it a toggle so it could be used to close the distance? I got a respec today so will check some other lines out tomorrow to see how they fair. I like the flavor of the class your going for just not sure the playstyle of what you have will be enjoyable. So far I feel like have to wait for certain situations to happen before I can do anything. And I feel like a flurry of action at the start of the fight and then just have to sit back and wait for situations while my guns autofire and I wait for timers to count down. Don't feel that way with my FT or NO always seem to have something to do. Will try and isolate more where that feeling is coming from in the skills. |

Also look for any files in the pig folder that have temp in them. That has messed me up in the past with patching. Delete them and then rescan and you should get a good patch.

If you use CTRL+1 on a hotkey, the CTRL will also activate the auto-cycle function. I don't think it does that in live right now

Sails are still reversed on some ships. Olyphant Indiaman has reversed sails when on the open sea.

I just spawned mine and agreed that I'm not all that impressed, but let me get up a few more levels before worrying which are the best skills under 20 vs respect and selecting for different setup.
Just an observation - nice write-up, may want to clone it into fraxl's Buccaneer Thread here rather than having it get lost amoungst the other Feedback for this paticular build. |
