Default What are we lacking....

I am at a loss....truly. After witnessing every single port battle attempt by the British nation shattered for the past several months, and this weekends blockade of Port Royal going largely unhindered, I must ask: what is the British Nation on Antigua doing?!? I have 2 characters on Antigua, 1 NO and 1 FT. I am doing my level best to get my NO to 50 to participate in the RvR, and I use my FT to support the British economy. But all I see these days makes me wonder if once my NO reaches 50 (in 2 more lvls) will I just be fighting by myself? (metaphorically) I have also noticed that many people running the big shipyards have decided to stop building line-ship bundles, as they view them to be a waste of time. So there goes my economy support as well. Am I to assume that the British Nation is content to be the punching bag on this server? Are we just going to go PvE, and enjoy the RP elements? This is fine if thats what you wish to do. I just want some discussion on how its possible that our nation is so fragmented when others aren't. My desire to sail under the British flag is slipping.....We need to get our collective ***** in gear!

On a side note, as i was stuck in PR for a little while and helping a buddy of mine do PvE missions there. I noticed that there seemed to be some kind of cooperation/non-aggression pack between OMG and the Pirates. Is this an example of "If you can't beat em join em"? If this is the case, I am starting to question the mad desire for a good PvP challenge that everyone keeps saying they want. Why aren't the rats and OMG going at it in massive 6v6 epic furball in the red? How are they getting good PvP fights when OMG and Rats stand next to each other for hours waiting on a British newb that doesn't understand Ad-Hoc to make a mistake and enter the red foolishly? How is that amazing PvP? I know what it looks like to me to me....but what do I know.

From the pirate perspective -

There is definetly no alliance with the OMG.

Most pirates have learned how to avoid OMG in the red from they're efforts at MT earlier. Only a few pirate groups have the confidence and ability to take on an OMG 6v6. You can't blame them much. The odds of the average 6v6 is stacked against them as it is. OMG are one of the more skilled French 6 man teams. Britain can at least face them with equal gear and class skills.

So, like a pack of wild seadogs, they hover in the same area as the lions looking for scraps. The lions don't bother to chase the dogs unless one gets really close and leaves an opening. The dogs don't attack the lions because they aren't likely to win and the lions create left over splits they can pounce on.

OMG is not working with the pirates. We extend them the same courtesy we do the nationals. If they honestly truthfully want a 6v6, no splitting, just strait up fight. We will grant that to them. Both nationals and pirates can attest to this.

We had some temporary pacts with the pirates back on Morgan, but thoes were usually in efect for an hour or so. Just to remove somone/ some group from a pvp area. Forcefully remove that is. And let the Pirates have some fun also. Works out for both groups, and shortly thereafter, it is back to business as usual.

What we are lacking is a very long list, little cooperation, no coordination, poor showing for PBs, the people all about flipping the ports and PvPing dont take into consideration what they are flipping and then dont even bother to show up for the PB, and thats just off the top of my head. So for the most part at this time yeah you are pretty much alone, unless you tag along with whatever the groups are doing... oh and i am building LSBs so if you have supplies ill see what i need

I'm going to give you the same advice I gave back on Morgan to the brits and others:

Get 5-6 people. Start PvPing in small boats. Learn to show up as a squadron. Voila, you have 6 people who will be good and efficient next port-battle. Make others do the same.. you create natural leaders, teamplayers, cohesion.

It's all about saying "lets do this" and gather some people up. Take the leadership position if no one else does or if you feel inclined. We did this on Morgan where we were outgunned and outperformed around every corner - nearly any player who listens and is attentive can become a great teammate.
