Default L2P: Your Guide to Ultimate Stealth

So you have a stealthy ship, rigged with stealth gear while running Stealth 2. Think you've got the ultimate stealth? Think again!

The ultimate stealth can be used in any ship, even an SOL, and requires no captain skills and no fittings. It can reduce your visibility to 0 and give you the jump on anyone.

The ultimate stealth, of course, is AdHoc Invisibility.

Simply enter a red zone and attack some NPC and then run away and exit.

Upon exiting, just sit there. Don't move. You'll find that AdHoc lasts longer if you don't move.

Wait for enemy ships to wander into the zone. They see no ships, they see no battles, they think the coast is clear!

You now have a short period of time to run up and jump them. You should find that your invisibility wears off shortly after you start moving and you're free to attack them and they will have little or no warning of your approach.

Sad but true. It's the classic, "if you can't beat em join em" tactic.

As an adendum to the OP I would add that you can also use a get out of jail free card atleast half the time while sailing in the zone as well. They are sailing all around you, you just need to pick them up.

Use the npc's defencivly and grab one when you are about to get attacked. Don't be an idot and grab on of the nation that is about to attack you and poof, you are safe...and will be ultra stealthed after words so you can safely pick your next get out of jail free card.

Let me know when you figure out how to go a negative distance. There's a few Nobel Prizes for it.

You cant attack anything until preparing ship wears off. We have noticed that Nats seem to be able to attack even when this is still showing.

I am not sure but ad hoc might last longer than preparing ship but I cannot verify this at the moment.

Ad-hoc does last longer than preparing ship. It feels like about 30 secs, but I've never timed it.

I've been meaning to run a test:

Test 1)
Exit battle
Do not move
Time adhoc vs preparing ship

Test 2)
Exit battle
Begin moving immediately
Time adhoc vs preparing ship

Test 3)
Exit battle
Wait 15 seconds
Begin moving
Time adhoc vs preparing ship

I suspect there's some logic that's attempting to compensate for slow loading by not starting one or both timers until you move, but I'm not sure if it's treating both timers the same way. I do know that AdHoc lasts significantly longer if you never move, but I don't know how long.

I was going to test it, but I stopped caring. Maybe someone else will do it and post the results.

Rather than join them, report them, its griefing pvp and exploiting a game mechanic.
It's bs.

But does anyone care? I've never heard FLS condemn these types of actions and since I haven't I assume they are a accepted use of game mechanics. I don't use these craptastic tricks unless the other guy does. Like if they jump a NPC to avoid PVP I will do the same and hope I time the coming out right. It has yet to work for me.
