Default Aproximate 1.4 release date?

Can anyone give me a general sense of when the 1.4 patch is going to go live on the main servers? I've been suffering from an issue that is scheduled to be fixed with the patch, so I'm curious how long of a wait I have until I can renew my account. I'd go play another MMOG for a month to pass the time, but I don't want to get stuck playing the other game if the patch is going to be out in a few days or something.

Thanks.

I doubt they know yet. It still seems to have a number of bugs and their is a fair bit of tweaking going on with the new class skills and with the boat stats.

Doing a full review of every classes skills, introducing a new class and changing loads of ship stats is something that can kill the game if done wrong, lets encourage them to take their time with this one.

I agree entirely - I don't want to rush them. I'm just looking for some sense of how long it'll be yet. I haven't played long enough to know if they have a set time table for patch releases (ex. one per month,) or if it's totally a "when it's done" format.

From the sound of your response, I can probably afford to wander off for a month?

While I do not want them to rush anything out, they need to do something rather quickly to stem the deluge of players wandering off not to just new games, but old ones.

Not that I think this patch is going to really keep players from leaving, nor draw players back.

I am certainly curious - I sail on Testbed and while I have verified some of my past /support tickets have been resolved in subsequent 1.x patches, there are others that have yet to be corrected.

Could you elaborate what suffering currently afflicts you?

Stability / Performance:

Fixed a physics memory leak that could eventually crash the game. Thanks for sending those reports to Microsoft - that helped us nail this one.

One of our testers hung while sailing in the Open Sea. We think we fixed the cause of that.

One player had repeated hangs while zoning but sometimes when sailing the Open Sea. He sent us a crash dump and we were able to find and fix the problem.

All three of those issues, actually, but I believe I am the player they are referring to for the last one listed.

I hope they can at least take comfort in knowing that I will be back (oh yes, I will.) I waited years for the game, and longer still for a decent age of sail sim. I could prefer more realism, but I shan't complain more than to say that.
