Hi,

looking at the changes this jumped right at me:

* Buccaneers now have access to most non-combat trade ships.
* Bahamut: Acceleration 0.39 -> 0.78, 8lb deck -> 9lb, 13lb deck -> 15lb, 16lb deck -> 22lb
* Mont Blanc: Structure & Armor Bonuses 30% -> 35%, Reload Bonus 10% -> 15%

There is also that thread about the Mont Blanc in the ship forum..

Maybe this is class envy speaking from me, but this looks weird: FTs are stuck with little choice for good-range ships, and Buccaneer get quick access to all FT haulers, as well as a nice upgunning from 16 to 22 for their refit; of course the Couronne was given to them earlier as well. Who is the mastermind behind these changes?

Speaking of the Couronne, will it also go from 8 to 3 LSB's with 1.4? Like the third rates.

No.

Only the 'Valiant' dropped to 3 bundles. The other Third Rate, the 'Wenden' is still 8 bundles, as is the 'Hercules' Mastercraft.

The 'Couronne' already:
1. Is essentially as tough as a First-And-a-Half Rate (Ok, so I made that up)
2. Has more durability (4) than any other writ-ship, so it costs less per durability.
3. Has a cheaper final cost

I have to agree on the couronne, it used to be crap, but has been Buffed with every patch. While still not being amazing, its a pretty nice ship now, and as others pointed out as it has 4 Dura, its not 'that' expensive for what you get.

It's ok. I still think the gun deck should have been upped to 22 pdr with the recent upgunning on Testbed.

Ok, so the Bahamut got some speed improvements. And as I expected, the Leviathan was not blessed by Taelorn's touch.

The Bahamut is a refit of the Leviathan. How do you explain double the acceleration for the Bahamut then? Sure, some sleek or mastercraft variants of a frigates have improved handling. But this is the first cargohauler 'refit' that has a change in acceleration.

And yes, the Mont Blanc has even some more buffs now. But why does it only have 2 durability? The Bahamut has 3 (as it's base does), why not the same for this Oliphant refit?

easy answer to all the bahamut/buccaneer related question:
Pirates are currently the golden Child of Taelorn

There is no possible justification for these massive advantages.

This is stupid. Other classes get shots to ignore DR entirely.
For 1 shot. Focussed Fire hits target DR against all targets for 45 seconds

Also the disciplines hog way too much morale to nerf them. Ludicrous.
More DPS per morale point than any other skills. You essentially get 60% Unpredictability: Offense for 65% of the morale and none of the debuffs; and Flog Gunners with 5% more DPS for the same morale.

With regards the Baha, there are precisely 8 of those 22lb cannons. As to the dura and accel, I'm prepared to bet they are bug oversights.

The Mont Blanc has 2 dura because all refits have 2 dura (as mentioned if the Baha isn't a bug I'll eat my PC)

FTs now have the choice between a short-range DPS monster (Mont Blanc), affordable long range pounder (Heavy Herc) and uber-grind Deathstar (Couronne). That's not what I'd call bad selection...

Is the morale cost for all preparations for Fts still at 80? Or has it changed as the skills work changed?
