Why was Blackbeard in this game? He dies in 1718 and this game takes place in 1720!!

Technically they don't know exactly if he died, they even explain that in game.

Remember that the Burning Sea world setting differs a little from actual history. In the game, Woodes Rogers was never appointed "Captain-General and Governor in Chief in and over the Bahama Islands;" and if that never happened, who's to say that Edward Teach would have been brought to justice prior to 1720?

Kidds death is well documented. He was hung in Enlgand on Friday May 23, 1701.

But, as Ms Marion states, this is a game.

A couple months ago, I read a book about the "true story" of Kidd. If the book is indeed the real deal, then his fate is a travesty of justice.. murdered by greedy, honorless dogs.
Reading it almost made me sick.

So, seeing him and reading his destiny ingame took the edge off a bit.

Just doesn't seem right to be hanged so someone else doesn't lose face.

Anyway.. I think Im done here.
