6 months of live time and how many years of beta?
At the least they should refund or extend our subscriptions as it is quite clear we that this is still a beta test. I think it is too late now. Most people have left or are just about gone. Summer is here. Lots of fun things to do outside. There is no end game rewards to play for. Nothing to keep people coming back once they reach 50. Fighting the same groups day in and day out is boring. There are no real rewards for winning the map. There are no real rewards for sinking another player other than a few marks and the excitement you get by doing so. A good portion of the player base is not 100 percent into pvp, many prefer the economic aspects and providing for those that do pvp and keep their ports for them. These people have all been run off. Wave the white flag.....It is all but over. Combine all the servers, that was brilliant the last time. I can't tell you how many people from Antigua left because of that alone and I know a bunch of people from other servers that came to Antigua also left. If you are going to move people, move them to a clean server and start over. |

Theres no time to act like this is just a fad, its not. I love this game and something can be done now. It should be done now. Waiting any longer in my opp tightens the noose. Its not as if im asking him to rework the whole game which is what they are doing. We need some type of a quick fix that doesnt include another round of merges or anything else thats an overbaring change. For instance they could just straight up increase dabloon drops which would increase buying and producing. And i agree although i was one for it the merges did not fix anything if anything it made things worse but as a community we asked for it and they gave it to us. We can forget about the past 6 years and beta and so on. Ive seen these things happen before in older games. The devs in this game have listened far beyond what most have. Reminds me alot of the dev team for auto assault. The question is can we stop infighting long enuff to help them stop the influx of people leaving. Can we see the core problems instead of infighting over ships and skills. I really wish we had an eviroment where we could go back to those discussions. But yo kno what they are pretty moot right now. I do want all the changes they are bringing. But those take time which we might not have as much of as some want to insinuate. If i am to put another 6 months to a year of my life in this game. I need to know now that they arent just looking at game reworks and large additions to fix it. In alot of cases ITS THE SMALL THINGS THAT MATTER MOST. Had we addressed making it easier for people to actually partcipate in the different facets of the game making it easier to do so. I think that would have been much better than the merges. But i couldnt see it at that time like many im sure. We absolutley have to have something to do in the meantime while these hvy chages are being made. Make some small changes and lets the community build it self back up. Help us to help you to turn this game around. I believe it still can be. So lets do it. Something to give them time to work on their 6 year old kinks. And something to calm the savage beasts sailing the high seas. On top of that there are numerous ways of doing this some i suspect would be less damaging to an already harsh market. Im not asking them to make every ship avail to everyone. Im not asking them to make every skill avail to everyone. Im asking the to give the dabloons in one way or the other a boost inthe game. Most people are broke. They arent just in a game with people running out the doors and grinding till their teeth fall out. On top of it all they are broke. They cant even afford to try the pvp. Tons of un experienced players that will never be able to afford that experience. That sir is a seriously problem. |

I just won't be paying for a subscription while they do it. I have never ever ever in my life reactivated a subscription once it was cancelled. it is possible that this game will be a first for me in that respect. it is far more likely that by the time the game mechanics are fixed, the graphics and interface will be old and dated, and I still won't be interested in returning. -ken

Ken's right. The gameplay and premise for this game are original, and I don't know of anyone who will argue the point of this game's potential (TONS of it!) But, gameplay, graphics and ideas are always moving forward. How long will it take to implement the big changes that need to be made? In that time period will there be any new games released that offer better experiences to players? This game was released too soon, and I blame myself for joining the chorus of voices that shouted for release in October. That does not, however, mean that I will keep paying to wait for the big changes to come, if they ever do. I've given this game my time and money since January, and I'll give it a bit more, but not much. A short-term band-aid MUST be put in place to keep players on the treadmill until such time as the bigger changes come in, or a better game comes along. Better, of course being a subjective ideology...

I do think the economy needs as much protection as possible, until everything the economy needs (and other areas of the game too) gets introduced.
That's why I put some thought into using something already in the game, that is probably under-utilised at the moment, which can offer a 'cheap and easy' addition that is still going to act as a cash sink - the Civilian Ship Deed trader. Offering a Civilian Ship Deed for a Blockade Runner vessel available from level 10 for say 2.5k db each, means that a lvl 10, without any real effort, could afford at least 4 of them to get started with. They should have permanent fittings already installed (or have no slots), and no general fitting slots, so lvl 10 - 50 can compete on a level playing field, and lvl 10's and up can start learning how to PvP, and have fun in the process. Then have the Blockade Runner only flagged for PvP, to people ALSO in Blockade Runners, and acting as Interceptors. I'd make the effort of Port flipping from 5k to 10k, pretty much reliant on people in Blockade Runner ships, running associated missions, and intercepts of their cargos. The NPC's are already in the game, to offer the necessary missions - the Garrison Commander and the Rebel Agent. Give decent rewards for every level for these missions, so it is possible to level from 10 up, entirely on doing these missions if people want to, and a level 50 that's lost their last ship in a PB or something, still has a fun way to earn some cash PvPing while saving for a new one. I think there's a case for two types of mission availability - solo, and group. Solo in this ship would be restricted to 1 v 1 fights, group to the full 6. If it started to get busy enough in the Red Zones (I think it would), then have small group missions ready to add to the mix (say for 3 vs 3). I suppose a mission for 24's wouldn't be too hard to add either. The only other necessary aspect, which I think may possibly be a little time consuming to add, is while you are in a Blockade Runner ship, only your first tier of class abilities, are available to you. Now it doesn't take long to get to level 10 at all (I tested this on Antigua/Spain, and it was easily possible to get to 19+ without leaving Vera Cruz, and still in the lvl 1 fallback, and I'd earned around 100k in the process, by lvl 15). By level 10 people are getting in the swing of the controls, and have enough skills to get going with. The layout of skills could be optimised to facilitate this aspect, as long as it didn't mess up overall progression. This introduction would probably have people PvP'ing like mad up to level 50, and keen to be running in the Red Zone rather than avoiding it. By the time they are 50, they should be getting to be pretty competent at PvP, which means the quality of PvP fights at level 50, should start to get outstanding. Also, there's no need then to try and hide lowbies away from the real Nation War (soaking up Dev time trying to give them stuff to shelter them away, in the process), they can be an active part of it, and making a positive contribution along the way. It's inclusive rather than exclusive, in other words, and it doesn't matter what level you are in that ship, you are competitive, and helping to make a difference for your Nation. If this approach is taken with say 20% - 25% MAXIMUM of the PvP additions to the game, I think it would stand a great chance of being a great stimulus to the real economy, by driving a massive increase in the end game PvP. It would also buy a lot of time for the Devs to clarify their vision (people will wait happily if they are having fun). I'd resubscribe anyway. PS. My apologies for repeating this idea here, for those of you who have seen it before, but it's my parting contribution to the game, and I really hope something (it for sure doesn't have to be identical or even remotely similar) in the same sort of spirit can get added. |

+ We need as fast as FLS can act ... 1. let the newbies, and all very low level players to reach - as fast as they can - the L50 (more XP on missions - delete the -50% penalty in missions - or count less XP/levels), beacuse they are our last munitions to keep this game alive ... 2. make a minimum limit/ships/port battle/SIDE!!! in port battles to avoid the "empty" port battles and easy wins> for example: to fight a port battle, any national (or pirate) side need minimum "15" (it's a "number", FLS can increase or decrease it ...) ships/side/port battle. If this minimum number is not allowed at the start of the battle, the battle will be "retiming" 2 hours later that day. If we got the same situation (less than the minimum "15" ships/side) that time, the battle will be at the server's prime time (20.00 or 21.00 etc, etc.) at the same day when the most player is playing. (No other round!) This can solve a problem in Roberts ... 3. More USEFUL rare items from NPC ships! 4. Do something with the OS sailing time, because it's going to our playing time and it's very very boring (in SWG Lucasarts solved it with the transplanetary travel by own starships). 5. I don't mind how much money is/will be a 1st or a 2nd rate, if FLS will delete the "durability" of the more than 2 bundle ships: (Pirate Herc, MC HERC, 3rd, 2nd, 1st rate ships, Couronne, etc.). If we want big fights, really big pvps and much more fun, we need the biggest ships. But we need something like a durability, because the pirate nation's capture skill, so don't forget it! (At this time all big ships are the waste of money. It could not be an "end game" content ...) |

Presuming that Sundown, is actually Slick Sundown on Antigua, then it might be something mroe to do with the fact that he is on a lot of pirates ignore list after launching into a tirade of insults and childish rants about other Pirate Society leaders - Theres quite a few players on Antigua, or at least I can usually find a gang.
