update
okay so i just bought this game right. and so i get it all installed, and register, all that ****. then i go to start and i have to download the update. but the problem is my internet isnt slow as ****, but this update has been going for two days now, and its not gotten anywhere. its estimated time has stay perpetually between one to two hours... that cant be normal, the hell is with this?

It's hundreds of megs so taking many hours isn't unexpected. Days is unexpected. Check out Answer 200 for suggestions. However, the patch is hosted by SOE and LaunchPad is their tool. You may get more knowledgable service by asking them about it.

I had this problem as well. Turned out to the be the router I was using. PotBS uses a lot of UDP traffic and routers that cannot handle large amounts of UDP traffic will freeze the download. Somewhere on the forums is a Router compatibility list and the router that I was connected to was on it. I had to stop and restart the connection every time it froze. Took a total of five hours to update. Fortunately, I was visiting relatives at the time and the router back at my house was compatible, so the issue for me was short term.
