Ya, you do touch on it in Part 5. It's dealt with in terms of normal vs. advanced structures. BTW, my point is a general one about econ guides/posts/tutorials for this game. This thread seemed the best place to make it.


In my experience, it's very helpful to explain upfront and emphasize that the (structure) economy is not really to make income. You can, but it's marginal and has huge opportunity cost vis a vis grinding. The main function of structure is to produce scarce goods that can not be obtained any other way.

Anyway, I've made my point enough. Thanks for the guide.

Good guide. To reinforce, if no one lists ships/outfittings/etc on the auction house, then all those doubloons won't do a bit of good.

Then again, the economy should be fun, not a chore.

weathering flags - Loot the linen texture from http://www.burningsea.com/forums/sho...9&postcount=16. Toss it in a lower layer than the flag. Take flag layer opacity down to about 60-70%.
