Camera reset during combat

I am pretty sure this was mentioned in threads that were wiped after beta, but I would like to keep it visible. This morning while I was in an encounter with numberous ships both on my side and against me, several times the camera reset, sometime as much as 180 degrees. I believe it was because someone was attacking me, and I had finished up with someone I was dealing with, but I could be wrong. If this is a feature, I don't like it. This is right up there with Microsoft Office thinking it knows what I want to do next. My preference is that the camera never resets, but if others find it valuable, I would like an option to toggle it off.

With my opinion stated, I perfectly understand if this is not the highest priority over the next month or so.
