I was interested starting to do a little ship modeling, and was reading through the archived forum posts. I opened the stickied post "A landlubbers guide to ship modeling", and it appears to be be an excellent tutorial. The only problem is, none of the links in it to the example pictures work. The lack of those examples makes it much more difficult to follow the tutorial. Is anyone else having this problem? Has the tutorial been posted somewhere else with the example pictures fixed?

They work fine for me, but a moment ago I had some loading issues on that wiki, so maybe you just experienced some similar problems, maybe try again.

the version in the archive is broken, I moved my server since then and they've all been shifted to the wiki. I'm not sure what's wrong with the loading issues on the wiki, sometimes it cruises along without a hitch, sometimes it lags to davey jones locker and back. What's especially odd is that the rest of the sites on the same server never lag, so it seems to be a problem with the wiki software itself. Maybe I configured something wrong, I don't know...

I was looking at the old version in the archive, didn't know it had been reposted in the wiki which I just checked and is working for me. Thanks guys.

Hi,

Is there any way of accessing the old threads that detailed the individual ships that were developed prior to the move to the new forum?

Thanks

Try the 3D User Content Archives. You will need to scroll to the bottom of the page and change where it says "Show threads from the [Last Month]" -- [Last Month] being a drop-down menu. You'll want [From the Beginning].

Is there an alternate link to the user content wiki? I've been trying to access it to no avail. I also asked a few other friends to try this and both of them got a page load error.

Unfortunately Kris had some issues with the domain so the wiki is currently not accessible. Last thing I heard was that he wanted to reactivate it under a different URL though. I'll nudge him to see what's up with this.

Sorry about that! A couple months ago I lost the domain name when I couldn't afford the $35 to renew my subscription for it. The server is still online but I haven't had time to change the wiki configuration to use the new URL. My server is due to be migrated within the next week or two when my employer updates their hardware, so it should be relatively easy for me to take care of the wiki at that time. I don't think I'll get many spare moments before then due to family and work stuff.
