Default Ok, how do I continue my suddenly expired trial account

What are the steps to continue a trial that suddenly stopped, keeping all my progress. It looks like it can be done based on other posts, but I could use the exact steps, since it looks kind of arcane.

Heya DeadPirate,

This is a step-by-step for what you need to do to continue playing the game after the trial.

Firstly, you need to purchase the game. You can buy a boxed version of the game from a major game retailer in your country. If you buy the physical game, do not install the game again, you will only need the CD-key from the box. You can also purchase the game from an online source like Steam, Direct2Drive or as a stand-alone from SOE Station Store.

Once you've purchased the game, you will need to login to the SOE account page. To keep your details from the trial, you will need to login using the Station account name and password that you have been using. If you got a CD-Key, you will need to click the "Enter Activation Code" first. If you buy the game through Steam or off SOE Station Store you will not get a key as these simply update your account automatically.

After this point, you will need to setup your subscription. For this you will normally need a credit card, however after the initial activation you can purchase SOE game cards from retailers.

Once you've been setup with your subscription, that's it! You can then log back into the game and play the game from the point where you finished your trial!

Hope this helps you to get going but don't hesitate to post again if you get stuck

Thank you Aegir. It seems to have worked perfectly, even taking my gametime card and not hassling me for credit card info.

And I have my character back with all items and progress intact!

Just as an aside, the SOE rep I contacted about this said it couldn't be done. It's good to get more than one opinion.

I don't think I can find another gametime card for POTBS on the planet, but that is an issue for another day.

If anyone else reads this, YMMV because SOE is always tweaking their systems, but so far so good.

Now to go show the Nats pestering Matthew Town the error of their ways.
