Now imagine if they required some sort of Troop-style unit to take a port? Requires you to grind up small arms, blackpowder, maybe some cannons.... and use troop transports to haul them.


Granted this is for nationals only, pirates couldn't be bothered.

Well my question is this...If there is supposed to be a pirate "nation" shouldn't the king be something more than a static NPC?

We used to have a Pirate King on Rackham. But when they killed the forum thread for "The Rack is busting out" they also killed the heart of the pirate king. He has since been transformed into a frog and awaits a fine pirate wench to revive him.

The ownership of towns has been 'adjusted' to make the map fairer, this was a design decision by FLS so that certain nations were not handicapped in the economy, some of the early CB maps were more accurate but caused a storm of protest over the economic dispersion and was changed to make the game more playable and enjoyable for every nation.
The dutch still had a significant presence, 5 or 6 islands + Suriname. France only had a few islands more.
