Default "Black Heart, Black Powder" is bugged

The person I must escort to the destination point via swashbucking does not follow me, and thus does not reach the target point, and the mission cannot end.

It's a shame... she fought so well in the previous step

At any point did the friendly NPC get killed? If so then you should have gotten a mission failed at that point.

I ask because my son was doing the beginning arc mission "Past the Point of Subtley" part 2 where he and Salvador go into the Bilge Rat cave to confront the pirate leader. Salvador died on him and when he got back up, he wouldn't talk, follow or fight, just stayed there. Once my son got to the leader and talked to her, she talked as if Sal was present. My son ended up running back and forth across half the map to carry on the 3 way conversation.

With that one, one of the mission objectives wasn't "Sal must make it to leader" so he could still complete it. With the fighting/dieing and either getting back up or just disappearing it's hard to tell when you lose an NPC ally.

I had the same problem. I ended up "pulling" NPCs to her, then moving towards Exit point. She seems to move while aggro'd. Takes a while, but does work.

I've got the same problem. I misunderstood what Melanie said and figured she just stayed there til the path was clear. Since she kept sayin something bout how she must survive, I thought it meant I had to clear the way solo, then come back to get her, d'oh!

I'm pretty sure it was that quest, but i couldn't get her to move either. However if you sail to the drop off location without attacking any of the defending ships she followed orders. I got the bug every time I sank the defending ships first, and completed the quest without a single cannon shot fired until the fort.
