Default Change AH Quantity/Price UI

Well I'm sure I'm not the only one to have vastly overpayed for something cause you mix up which box which number goes in when doing a lot of transactions in the AH. Or of course the imfamous extra 0 typo. I know it has been suggested that there be some sorta check or whatnot of price vs norm but I don't think thats the right way. Something does need to be done though cause one slip up really hurts especially since we are forced to have our entire bankroll availible at once (my kingdom for a bank).

My thinking is change the price to a series of ticker boxes say 5 of them with little arrow buttons on top and bottom for changing the number in that box. If you get my meaning.

obviously the ones on the bottom would have arrows facing down. They would all start with -'s in them , or 0's and can be flipped from 0-9 each.

1. In this way you immediatly differentiate the price from the quantity since you would still type the quantity.

2. The 'extra 0' oops would be eliminated as someone wanting to buy 60 of somethign isn't going to enter a 3 digit number.

3. It has the added benny of as your incrementing price to find the lowest it's just a button slick away rather then having to mouse select the text , enter a new number every time. So in this way it saves you a step.

Perhaps make it an option to do it this way , or manual via a option in preferences for those who find this way more a bother.

Just my 2 cents , sorry if this has already been suggested.

The easiest way would be to put the separation of the boxes further apart. Or right to left rather than up and down. Price and amount rather than amount then price.

ACK! No offense, but this sounds like a terrible system! There's already too much mouse movement for UI elements, we don't need more! (Remember, mouse movement is the primary cause of carpal tunnel syndrome in gamers). Not to mention this wouldn't stop anyone from accidentally clicking in the wrong amount, at which point people would begin to clamor for a system that let's them type in the amount they want to pay. Also, what you propose as a "benny" (benefit, I assume) is actually a way to encourage people to abuse the AH. The AH is not about finding the lowest possible price. It's about designating a price you're willing to pay.

That might be the way for the impatient , but I assure you good sir the AH is all about finding the lowest possible price for those who play the market.

In any event if you have a better idea on how to prevent extra 0's , and keep people from getting which number goes in which box mixed up I'm all ears.
