LOL! But mimes don't talk. That's the joy of 'em.

With over 80 ports and a town taking the entire environment team and some of ConCo for a month or two, we'd have never shipped.

The look of a town should be secondary to its functionality & gameplay importance.
If there are no Christmas trees by December i quit. lol
How about an easter event or two?

The screenies of the new Pointe-à-Pitre look great, but mimes? IMO the only good mime is one that's hung upside-down over a scorpion pit containing a plaque with the phrase "Learn The Words" written on it.

My guess is you've only seen the amateurish street mimes and not someone who knows what they are doing. People who can't appreciate art and theater might has well have their eyes gouged out by blind ravens.

Er, to be honest I just couldn't resist the opportunity to allude to the esteemed Lord Havelock Vetinari, Patrician of Ankh-Morpork since no-one else had seen fit to do it. In reality, I have nothing against mimes per se, but I've yet to see any that made me do anything other than yawn and look away.

If you can provide me with a YouTube link that isn't a RickRoll, though, I'd be willing to give 'em a chance

It looks very nice, thank you, and kudos on the graphical job

I just hope the people tuning the economic part are working just as hard to improve the realities of the gameplay outside Point-a-Pitre however, because no matter how nice the Towns look, they are not the game, and I am not saying this to down the new Town Graphics.

I am just saying they wont matter in a while if the rest of the gameplay is not addressed, and it will be a shame.

I hope that you take the same interest in Spanish ports soon. San Juan and La Habana are very important historical landmarks and they just have a default non-unique port in the game.
Both of those Spanish cities were replaced in beta as were Marsh Harbor, Jenny Bay, Tortuga (where did old Tortuga go? I liked that one), and Port Royal. No French town was ever upgraded.

Looking forward to seeing Point with Clown. The screenshots are nice. I hope the street layout makes sense. I too would to see a Moulin Rouge look though it's 170 years into the future.

I don't know if anybody else caught this or not, but I read the article and tried to do some research about this without going to the wiki, but, here is an except of something I thought odd:

“The town of Point with Clown, was creates by English in 1760. French recovered it later three years!"

Ok, so, the British created this town in 1760. The game takes place around 1720. How can a city that was created 40 years after this game takes place be in the game? Is it like the sextants that was mentioned, that it came from the future but nobody knows what it is???

Wikipedia's never, ever wrong.

But yes, I do think they took some liberties with the Caribbean geography/history.
