I thought this mission was really fun. Sure it took some time but the whole theme of hide and seek around the rocks was a blast. This is also the first mission where I had to really use the special shots.

I do have one little concern though and thats the fact that in the part before the ship combat where you're in the tavern you are in a different tavern setting than the one you visit "off mission". It's a bit strange and gives a not so proffessional impression for new players I'm afraid.

I found my son getting really frustrated with his new pirate today - he was trying to do this mission at Level 2

I didn't even realise you could pick it up that early!

This mission is my favorite among all I have done so far. I wish they all were like this one.

That being said, the time vs reward is a bit mismatched. Although I can't say I really noticed the time with all the fun I was having. Then again I didn't really get to it until about level 5, so it wasn't really hard or anything.

I agree that it is one of the better missions in the game that I have seen so far. I also agree that it can be a bit daunting for a new player. Personally, I tend to go after the freebooter first before he has a chance to run too far off, but I have also found the NPC Helper ship to be fairly useless.

I believe the mission is available straight out of the Tutorial... so theoretically, you can skip the tutorial altogether and try it at lvl 1, with no ammo.

Personally, I don't think I've ever waited to lvl 4 to complete this mission, and rarely resort to dismantling shot. Because you have to hit 4 before the Class trainer gives you the Visit mission for the Swashbuckling trainer (a mistake, btw) the town and tavern sections are easy enough if you have a pistol and the correct skill to use it.

When facd with a circling ship, I plonk myself down wherever the fleeing ship has to make an upwind leg around his chosen island, and wait for my ally to chase him onto my guns, sandpapering the pirate's bow as he approaches.
