Default Updating

I recently bought PoBS, eager to play what seems to be a great game. It installed, with no problems, but now as its updating. i continue to get a bad file error on audio_m.pig_delta. Ive downloaded it 10+ times now. And still no luck

What should i do?

Use the beta patcher from launcher.station.sony.com. It doesn't seem to be as 'screwy' as the default patcher.

Murgoth - likely PotBS is still running in the background as a task. When you try to re-run the patcher, it fails on that file because it is currently in use by the game. Restarting your computer is the easiest way to fix this. (and should be done at least once a day IMO )

Sigeric - try restarting your PC if you havent. If that fails, find the file that's failing in the PotBS file and delete it. (look for both audio_m.pig_delta and audio_m.pig, they may be in seperate folders)

I have had the same issue on multiple files since day one. Sony has some suggestions, but since I ran through them all with no luck, I am adement it is their laucher, including their beta. I have been able to get all files updated, but have to run a full scan 5-6 times in succession. Usually, after first identifing what files are causing the problem, I delete them and the tmp files, then run the full scan the multiple times untill I have no more errors.

My suggestion is to delete the trouble files and keep running Full Scan until all problems are solved, then you have about 3 days till it screws up again. LOL.

I have a ticket with no solution as of yet, and SOE saying they have nothing else to offer. At least Flying Labs hasn't given up yet.

Make sure potbs.exe is not running in the task manager first. It would not hurt to reboot your computer first before patching.

Attach a POTBSPatch.log to this thread. You can find out where to get them in this post: http://www.burningsea.com/forums/showthread.php?t=9456
