Default Allows pirates to make red circles almost anywhere

Allow pirates to creat a PvP circle almost ANYWHERE. They goto Tortuga and dump some mats and this allows them to start a circle ssomewhere of their choosing (obviously, probably not near starter areas, I wouldn't mind that but its probably not a good idea). They can kill NPCs in the circle or players to keep the circle going. More would be needed but I think this would be very cool and would be very PIRATEY.

I would love to see the ability for pirates to cause open waters (areas not close to any port) go to pirate pvp also.

Bad idea, then pirates will band together and make a huge pvp area and gank everything that goes through it. This is like Gate Camping in EvE online, and that was a huge issue to a lot of people and caused hundreds of potential players to ditch the game.

I like the idea of pirate pvp outside of Red Zone/Ports, but what Slystar says is right. Pirates if they are to be engaging in pvp roles outside of the normal zones (such as non-consentual pvp) need to do so with very strict regulation and rule structure to avoid becoming simply roaming gank squads sinking anything and everything.

agreed with the last two posters. If pirates really want a red circle they are welcome to do it the same as the rest of us.... with turn-ins.

(All seriousness, they really would have to keep the same options of starting pvp for everyone the same.)

Just to let you know, not everyone enjoys PvP. In case you didn't realize that.

PvP zones can be pain enough to sneak through or sail around. I don't need to see the whole damn map one big red zone.

You could easily limit this to 1 circle. Thus, problem solved.

Furthermoe, it wuld seem difficult to make and maintain even 2 circles let alone 3 with the current system.

Further furthemore, I have a trader's sloop and sailmasters. FTs can go anywhere with impunity.

if they can make a PvP zone anywhere, possibly make it so the battles can only be 1 on 1?

I was kicking around this idea a little too, but I wasn't sure how to balance it. To keep the PvP consensual, it'd have to create a small pirate PvP circle somewhere.

Maybe, make several pirate "hotspots", like little ports. They'd have to be in NPC traffic lanes, and pirates would have to be able to flip them pretty easy, but make them hard to keep in PvP.

Something like, 0-5k, with a rapid decay. PvP would start at 3k or higher. It would take a group of pirates to create and maintain it, but could be placed all over the map in key locations.

Oh, and only pirates would be able to make them, and sinking any (non-pirate) NPC or player would add "unrest", while anyone sinking a pirate NPC or player would decrease unrest.
